Ok, so the spell discription, when using the “Grovel” command does not say anything about speech, just ending your turn.

And the word grovel itself does not have anything to do with speech.

Now, in RAW you can only speak on your turn (six seconds of info). Since the Grovel command makes you end your turn after falling prone, you can’t talk.

But in this campaign, due to the online format, we have waived this rule and let people speak whenever.

SO...

Yes, technically you should not be able to talk

But, we have been ignoring the rule that makes that so, and I don’t see a reason to change now, unless I want to shut you up. And I’m feeling nice, so nah

Well I probably only used Suggestion, since we are directly gone to the attic after leaving the tavern, and except Eldritch Blast and Suggestion, I didn't do anything else.
