The new cirlce of spores Druid remembered me of this guy. (You probably don't know him)

 

Looking at him from a Magic: The Gathering perspective:

Five mana for a 2/4 isn't great, but assuming that "minion" is a token in M:TG terms, this is actually a decent card. I can't say for sure, but depending on his color identity, he might go well in a token deck. And if "minion" is a creature in M:TG terms, than this is absurdly good. Cards that can act as other cards typically go for a 3 - 4 mana cost, but being able to duplicate powerful creatures means he's well worth the casting cost.

TL;DR: What color identity is Ixlid, and what is a "minion" in Hearthstone?

 

Ixlid is a legendary minion.
You have a board in Hearthstone, with a max of 7 minions (creature cards). So after you play a minion from your hand, Ixlid will summon a copy of it. So you'll have 2 for the cost of one

 

So, minions are the equivalent of M:TG creatures. Still, what color would he be? I'm guessing Green, since, well, fungi are plants. Maybe Black/Green, with the whole rot thing.

 

You don't have colors in Hearthstone. You just have a class he is assigned too.

 

What's a class? Would it be Elemental in Ixlid's case, based on the card? Because if he's colorless, Ixlid would be ridiculous in a White/Green deck. Giant hordes of white one-drops! Quick pairs of powerful ones, possibly those with ETB effects like Arborback Stomper! Ramp even more by putting out two Llanowar Elves for the price of one! Even if he was Green/Black, that would still build into a good deck (maybe Commander), with black discouraging opponents until you get out Ixlin.

 

Hearthstone is nothing like MTG. So don't go with the colors.
Ixlid is a Druid Legendary. So only the druid class can play him.
His tribe is elemental. Tribes interact with other cards. (for example: If you played an elemental last turn, do something... Ixlid is an elemental, so this triggers.)

 

I'm just trying to figure out how Ixlid would convert best to M:TG. Being colorless would make no sense on a M:TG card, so...

Wait, what? Character classes?

So, the M:TG equivalent of creature types. There are effects that interact with creature types (similar to tribes), such as Goblin King. I'd put Ixlid, under M:TG rules, as a Legendary Creature - Elemental.

 

Yeah, I guess you could see it like that.
If I would put Ixlid in MTG, he would be a Green/Black legendary. He would need to be a lot more expensive, cause 5 mana is easy to get.

Also, yes character classes.
You have 9 + neutral cards (for everyone). Each class has their own legendaries and cards/ spells etc.

 

5 mana is a fairly large amount for M:TG. As a quick comparison, some in-color cards of similar mana cost include Baneslayer Angel and Charging Monstrosaur.

Okay. That feels rather odd, but...

 

Oh wait, that's the real life game. I was thinking of the mobile game. Yeah, 5 mana seems good.

Yeah, that seems quite good.
His summon animation is funny. He just summons a bunch of mushrooms and he pops out.

So a hole in the shape of a key. So we would need some kind of material to make a key.
