3+1 =4 acid damage. That's actually good, I can't have them at low health.

For a pile of metal and wood, Heat is very agile.

 

Damn, Heat is dodging all those nodes.

 

Or just wearing super amazing armor that the attacks can't get through

 

I find it annoying how DMs tend to describe all attacks as "missing". By that logic, a fighter in full plate is more nimble than a rogue in leather.

 

I sometimes say "it bounces off your armor" or something

Generally if it's like 3-5 lower then their ac it hits their Armour if it's lower than that they doge

 

My policy depends on the exact type of armor, but for heavy armor:

• If the roll is below 10, they dodge.
• If the roll is between 11 and their armor class, it doesn't penetrate their armor.
• If the roll is equal to or higher than their armor class, it hits and gets past the armor, the severity of the wound based on the damage the attack deals.

 

Those would have both hit, if not for disadvantage. Disadvantage caused them both to miss...

And that fails the save
