Any interesting magic items or monsters in the back? I know EE was supposed to be the supplement for that, so I doubt there's any character options

There are like 10 or so cultist statblocks for each of the cults, new variant elementals, and of course the Princes themselves (Imix is OP as all hell, by the way. Using legendary actions and lair action, he can inflict as many as four levels of exhaustion per round in a massive AoE, if targets fail some pretty high DC CON saves). Also, a couple of side characters.

As for items, there are some cool elemental themed items for each cult, which have the kind of interesting mechanic of being recharged by binding an elemental into the item. There's also two legendary dwarvish items and a legendary weapon for each of the four cults.

YES. I'm DMing Out of the Abyss later this year IRL, and I was also really looking for a group to play Curse of Strahd with (as a player).

But yes, Princes of the Apocalypse sounds amazing, as long as I'm not DMing (I just dislike elemental stuff in general. I'm ok playing with it, just DMing it is difficult for me. I think I did Kortassa's lair good tho). I'd totally be down to play.

 

You know what? I'd be interested in POTA. But would we start at Level 3 or do some side quests first?

 

The book explicitly says that characters should start at level 3 or do side quests first.

Also, you know how I said I found a PDF? Yeah, it's missing quite a few pages... Mainly the ending parts. So when you are able, I would still appreciate those items and Prophets and whatnot

Since it worked so well last time, I zap the beast with another Guiding Bolt.

Attack roll: 15 + 8 to hit = 23

Damage: 5 + 6 + 6 + 4 = 21 radiant damage.

 

It growls in pain, and starts flailing around, seriously in pain, until it stops. Another two bubbles emerge from it's back. (now only 6 left)

 

Does that mean they detach from it's back, or two new bubbles grow on its back?
