I use Radiance of the Dawn, creating a blast of light in a 30 ft radius.

All hostile creatures take 21 radiant damage, or 10 on a CON save, and magical darkness is dispelled.

 

I carefully and cautiously start moving to the right path.

I think the quote messed up the first time.

That could have ended badly, if you were in a different position by just a few feet.

Ok, all the hands of darkness instantly get obliterated, and they don't reappear.

You know how I counted Alas as hostile before? I was gonna be like "nah, I'm nice. He doesn't count as Hostile" but then I remembered your fight with him earlier, and how Caligo also got very aggressive during that argument, threatening to kill Yevor.

So you get to choose. Either Alas or Caligo is affected, it's up to you which one.

At this point, I'm angry at Alas but trying to work past that, and unsettled by Caligo... basically the dilemma is that I've been somewhat friendly with Caligo and view him as a useful ally, but he's also sort of diametrically opposed to everything I stand for... so...

From a meta-knowledge point of view, there's one very clear better option here, in terms of hp

 

I think if I'm channeling my god's power to call up light, it makes more sense for it to involuntarily effect Caligo, since his god is more or less the opposite of mine.

 

So, Caligo then?

Like, that completely makes sense.

 

Also, I do realize the last two times that you used this ability it kind of backfired on one of your allies, so I'll avoid making it do that in the future. Sorry.

 

I find it kind of cool for RP reasons. From a meta perspective, it's a little annoying, though.

Also, from a HP point of view, Alas has 8 temp HP that he can regenerate while not in combat. So if he makes the CON save he effectively only would have taken 2 damage, since he regenerates that 8
