Game Design Dungeon Token Hoppers

Should token hoppers be revamped?

    If you put items other than tokens in, it seems that it just deletes the item and doesn't give it back... I accidentally threw my horse in there and never got it back. Maybe add a refund system to the hoppers or only accept tokens? Or better yet just remove the token hoppers and check player inventory for the certain number of tokens, then remove that number of tokens once the player moves past the dungeon room.

    It feels to me like these hoppers are trash bin hoppers like those in banks or something when they really are just for token checking...

    Yeah, I think they should be replaced with NPCs that take your tokens and nothing else

    Then every person needs to get the amount of tokens, instrad of collecting them together like it is now...

    Well no, once one person gives them the tokens, then the door will open for everyone so everybody can walk through

    Can't this just be done with command blocks and a pressure plate or button, that would be way easier than to add a whole new kind of NPC.
