- Dungeon Spire - My Gamemaker Project! Build V0.06 Is Here!

Wow! Since the first version I was not so sure how this game would turn out, but you really have done well and it is shaping up to be a very well made game! What do you have planned for the next update?

Also, what pixel density are you using? I cannot tell from the screenshots.

Oh also making your game 2.5D is actually much simpler then it might seem. What you do is trick your player into thinking they are seeing different heights, but use tilesets and walls to interact with it.

It's exactly the same as if you wanted to make a 2D house, but instead of walls you make the edges look like cliff sides and the door look like stairs.

 

Well, next update I plan to start doing some dungeon mechanics and even a boss. So now if you play it you'll have something to do! :D

Well my character is 24x32 pixels, and the trees are about 256x312 pixels so yeah that's the scale I've got going.

I might try to do 2.5D later down the track, I was always planning to make the world flat but I probably should try it and see how it goes.

This thing should get WAY more attention than what it gets. I have played it for a bit, and it's amazingly done!


If you want some suggestions for the next build, I do have some:

- You should add the ability to save/reset the game.
- Adding a menu.
- Adding zombies. (I might be able to help you draw them)
- putting the rearty tear in the desription of the item.
- put description on potions. (What they do and how strong the effect is)

By the way, you should fix the glitch that doesn't let you die. (When your health reaches 0, you don't die)
Oh and I don't know if it's just me, but pressing escape crashes the game :P (I hope you can fix that)


Really looking forward to see what the final thing would look like :D I think it has great potential!

Huh, it's doesn't crash for me.... so does it crash when you press escape, select an option? I'll try to look into it.

Just from looking at the screenshots, maybe make an option in the menu to change the size of and move the GUI around? It's kinda blocking the bottom third of the screen in the screenshot above this post.

Also, what are the dimensions that you used for making the weapon sprites? I might design a few if I get bored .-.

I've got a toggle on whether the inventory is shown or not, just haven't posted a screenie with it off yet. But yeah, the whole thing should probably be smaller.

 

Looks great, but the UI scale is WAYYY to big. Please, at least add a slider.
