Double Xp For Vip Feedback!

Discussion in 'Wynncraft' started by Salted, Dec 4, 2015.

?

What should we do?

  1. Bring back double XP for VIPs

  2. Bring back double XP for VIPs but reduce the XP bonus

  3. Make it so VIPs receive a pet allowing them to share the double XP with players nearby

  4. Don't bring back double XP

Please read my post on Page 6 of this thread, where I reference Mojang's "Let's talk server monetisation - the follow-up Q+A", where I specifically address
"Can I sell boosters, which provide faster gold gain, XP, or other in-game resources for hard currency?
No - boosters, item generators, and all other features that affect gameplay are not allowed."
After you read that, consider the very last part of Mojang's Q&A, which I also tried to make sense of:
"How should servers deal with users who have already spent hard currency on features that affect gameplay?
Users may keep the perks they've paid for on the condition that the same perks are available to other players on the server (directly or purchasable using soft currency). It’s up to the server host to decide how to compensate users for previous transactions."

I agree with bringing double exp(for server profits. I hate pay to win), but I think you can increase your revenue by adding new things more often. This server probably got a lot of revenue after hyped updates, such as update 1.1(?). Basically, the update was hyped with new things that allowed players to have fun. As a result, the community's population skyrocketed, and the server profited enormously. People were able to try out new things, but there haven't been any major updates since then and the server revenue died. You also might want to look into server lag and ping to players. Abilities are, at times, unresponsive and choppy, affecting the overall experience of the average player. The choppiness makes the game suck, and you really lose server popularity as a result.

tl;dr: Add new things so that players are excited and clean things up so that the servers aren't choppy/laggy

So, according to the "very last part of Mojang's Q&A" we can assume that the only way VIP's are allowed to keep their 2x exp is if all players are also given a chance to have a permanent boost of 2x exp, aslong as it's purchased with some form of ingame Currency, or given to them directly.

That sounds really biased if you ask me. You're saying basically that VIPs don't deserve any perks for donating and that if you can't have it, no one can.

Remember people, we are trying to find a way to make VIP more attractive. And the fourth option, I believe, is only there to satisfy the masses of entitled non-VIPs who think that if they can't have something no one can.

I see what you mean, but nowhere in the EULA does it specifically state these facts and actually contradicts them. The EULA, as some of you may already know, stands for end user license agreement. This means that from the moment you buy and start up the game, you are agreeing to all the terms stated in the EULA, no ifs ands or buts about it. While the Q&A says:

"Can I sell boosters, which provide faster gold gain, XP, or other in-game resources for hard currency?
No - boosters, item generators, and all other features that affect gameplay are not allowed."

    The EULA says:

"Therefore, if you comply with and follow the Brand and Asset Usage Guidelines and Naming Guidelines above YOU MAY:...
    • ask for donations (as opposed to direct charges) IF you do not offer the individual donor something in exchange that only he or she can use. You may offer server wide rewards if donation goals are achieved though."
    AND

    • "sell positive effects or enhancements (other than "Capes") IF everyone on the server is positively affected in exactly the same way."
Though Item Bombs tread on the side of breaking the EULA, the argument could be made that spawning entities near every player on every server within the WynnCraft network is nonsensical, and to compensate for this the item bomb notifies every player within a certain radius that an item bomb is available with the coordinates to get there.

As for EXP bombs, the EULA itself says they're fine. When it comes to legal matters, I'm pretty sure that if anything is going to be referenced, its going to be the EULA, not the Q&A site that it references, but doesn't say it MUST be followed.

    Edit:
I fixed most of my grammatical mistakes. (hopefully)
(That's what I get for not reading everything I write to myself before posting it.)

As I said originally, I'm not a lawyer or barrister, however, that is how I read that last statement, also. The server can set the price of XP boosting, and the amount of boosting, to whatever they want, as long as it is justifiable in their own eyes. I can see some level of XP boost for VIP, VIP+, and something lower than all of those that's purchasable through GC for anyone who doesn't want to donate the amount needed for VIP or VIP+. This looks to me to be perfectly legal in the EULA.
    ________________________________
If you are referring to XP bombs, I addressed that, also, in my first post in this thread.

To be certain, the owners of MC, MS, can alter the EULA at any time that they want. They can alter it tomorrow, for all that we know, and I fully agree with you that what is in the Q&A will most likely not hold up against what is written in the EULA. However, it's my opinion that the Q&A was written in order to clarify Mojang's take on the new EULA, even though Mojang is now a subsidiary of MS. Mojang and MS made it clear, from the outset, that Mojang had a lot of autonomy, but how much they have, given the new EULA, may have been the purpose of the Q&A. I have no evidence one way or the other, however, I hope that I am correct.

Yes I know i;m VIP but if you think about it we paid for this and we did get a lot from buying VIP but just adding a sheep to our pets is fine. So is bringing back x2 xp, we originally had it so it shouldn't matter. (unless they already complained) But i say we should just bring it back slowly, say make is by every 0.25, every month or week.

Have different pets that give different buffs to nearby people. Examples:

IronGolem: Picks up nearby items which are given to their respective owners.

Sheep: 25% extra xp to nearby players.

Enderman: +30 loot bonus to nearby players.

Wolf: Leads you to nearby loot chests.

Pony: Boosts nearby horse speed by 33%.

Mimic: It's literally an enserchest that followa you. Anyone can use it.

Pleasw nothing that affects combat, just side effects to make grinding faster while still being fair.

One of this biased polls. No reason at all.
Actually, anyone can join on the VIP.

Right now VIP is basically useless, why not add it back? It's not game changing, 50 blocks isn't that bad either
