World Disregard Attack Speed In Powder Special Procs

    In case you dont know, weapon powder specials that do direct damage (quake, chain, courage activation..) proc mana and life steal as a melee hit, with the proc chance derived from your attack speed.
    Exact numbers on this thread but in short: having super slow makes your powder specials exponentially stronger for recovery than having a fast speed.

    This is unfair and makes no sense.

    When you cast a powder special, its cast time is constant and the amount of mobs affected have no relation to your attack speed.
    I suggest giving weapon attack specials a constant proc chance for steals, be it that of Super slow, Normal or whatever is deemed balanced.

    I don't think it's a good idea to kill atlas' viability because some people don't like using it or don't want to, the way I see it, hybrid builds would be insane if you could build high dps, int mana and high spell damage, atlas exists to optimize the hybrid play style and make it so it's not very busted, we all know atlas makes your melee dps non existant. I don't think super fast and super slow weapons should have a similar chance of activating with powder specials, doesn't seem wise to me. I think there should be a good reason to kill your attack speed in hybrid builds.

    no, it's literally not lmao. it's objectively more fair than letting faster and slower weapons have an equal chance at activating.

    Meh, maybe just make attack speed be a multiplier for steals instead of rng.

    Atlas is way too strong as an item for spell steal, though. Not true hybrid (it kills your melee damage) but spell steal. Y'all are stuck on calling spell steal hybrid because real hybrid used to suck. Get with the times.

    think you got a little stuck-up on me mentioning atlas once
    this is a matter of game integrity, not specific items or even build archetypes.

    consistent powder special steal procs wouldnt even necessarily mean you get the super slow procs youre currenly used to on a fast hybrid, thats all mentioned within the original post. it just means quake and chain arent wholly worthless on fast attack speed builds.
    hybrid builds with high dps, int, mana and spell damage already exist. theyre not overpowered by any means though, as it's not notably more efficient to have high melee dps and spell damage instead of just one of the two.


    right and altakar mentioned on discord that this has already been brought to salted, but apparently was impossible to fix due to noodle code or something like that. guess thats the end of this lol

    support but lacking a bit in terms of damage... I'd do it like this

    each powder special have exactly 1/x total chance of procing ms/ls, and disregard attack speed for damage
    thus quake and courage activation will have 1/x chance, while chain lightning have (1/x)/n chance per hit where n = number of chains total
    disregarding attack speed means the damage formula will be changed from
    (earth/thunder/fire damage) * (melee% + earth/thunder/fire%) * multiplier + (other ele) * (melee%) * multiplier + (raw) * multiplier
    to
    (earth/thunder/fire damage) * (attack speed) * (melee% + earth/thunder/fire%) * multiplier + (other ele) * (attack speed) * (melee%) * multiplier + (raw) * multiplier
    so faster attack speed weapons don't have shit quake/chains and super slow weapons don't deal absurd amount of damage (looking at you stinger)
