Please add the possibility to (permanently) disable a special gamemode after you reached combat lvl 106 (or just the highest possible combat lvl, in case it gets higher again).

Example: I start an ironman + hunted class, use it to lvl up with the challenge it provides and then at lvl 106 I turn them off and can use the class without any restrictions.

Also maybe you should still have (transparent) icons after permanently disabling the gamemodes just to show others that you used these challenge modifiers to level this class.

I've always been very against suggestions that alter the way the gamemodes work... And specifically for this one, I understand why you would want the option to disable the challenges in endgame, (so that you can use the class without worry about dying/have access to the ironman's inventory, etc)

But I do have some problems with the suggestion,
-Firstly the more technical issue: Say I died on my HICH at level 106, well now I have a gray hardcore icon. Well, that can be solved by permanently disabling the challenges so they all appear gray, now the hardcore death is practically meaningless since you can die all you want (and I can just say I never died on hardcore, I could just tell people I removed them all after getting to 106 :D)

-Secondly, why would you even want to remove the challenges? You put in all the work of getting through 1-106 with them, just so you can have a regular class in the end? Sure it might appear more impressive than a non-gamemode class but if that's what the goal was all along, then why not remain active in the challenge modes and try to achieve as much as possible. To me, that would be even more amazing.

Anyways, I'm just a big hater on challenge mode suggestions so don't mind me eh

And I'm writing this right before I go to sleep so if anything I said makes no sense at all, that's... very understandable lol

I like the idea, however I think it should be after a certain level (like 100 maybe?) or completing a quest (e.g. AHC).
Also, you should be able to choose a particular, or multiple, gamemodes to disable.
Maybe this could be a box you can tick/extra gamemode when creating the class - you can choose permanent/disable-able?

Of course the transparent hardcore icon would still be red or grey.

In my opinion it's fun to use the modes to level a class, but I still don't use them because after levelling the class I can't use it like other classes.

The people who found high value mythics on a HIC class would like to talk to you.

Although, I would be fine with 1 way trade, so that an iron man class can't get items, but if you find a mythic it can be given to a class that can trade. The ironman class gets no benefit.

Yeah I mean I understand the reasons to have the option to disable the game modes, but besides the points I made already, I just see the game modes as something that should be permanent after choosing them when you start. I'm just not a fan of "forfeiting the challenge" even if it means you now have more things you can easily do on that class.

    The mythic problem...

Yeah I've made my point about this before on old suggestions for a one way trade, to me it just feels like an unnecessary exception, which doesn't follow in line with the ironman challenge. I know the ironman class gets 0 benefit from it but then it doesn't feel like an isolated class like it should be.

However if a one way trade were to be implemented, I would want it to actually gray out the ironman icon, permanently disabling the challenge, if you decide to make the first trade. (similarly to Ingo's idea). This way it feels fairer to me: you either give up the challenge to transfer over a mythic or whatever you want, or you keep going as ironman without having transfered anything.

The way i see ironman is that it is basically no outside help and that you need to do all the work yourself. I don’t see why giving away items changes the challenge at all? Nothing is being gained on the ironman class itself, so why exactly would the challenge be “failed”

The point of the ironman mode is to have a fully isolated experience from your main classes, whether it be something that affects the ironman class or not. Sure, you aren't gaining anything by transfering an item, but your other classes are benefitting from your ironman class, and that's not how the gamemode was designed or intended or should be imo.

From my suggestion for ironman transfers, I wouldn't call it "failing" the challenge, but instead it would just be an option to discontinue the challenge (with the yellow tag) in exchange for the ability to transfer items away. The ironman challenge (if played alone) essentially acts as a new first class to get to experience the majority of the game without having the option to alter anything else, it's that way now and it should stay that way.
