    What still confuses me is why would you need a portal to get to something right behind the ESE mountains of Wynn? If it's like "There's a magical presence that prevents entry", sound super lazy.

    So if all corruption is from dern why not just make the nether portal dern,

    LITERALLY WHO GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE PORTAL TO GO TO NETHER

    The Nether Realm and the Realm of Shadows are different. Dern is a province, or so we think, most likely connected to the realm of shadows, just how Gavel is connected to the realm of light. The Nether Portal connects to the nether realm. And corruption is not from Dern, corruption is created between light and dark.

    Excuse me, your compass seems to be off. Gavel is to the north, the Wynn Desert is east, the Jungle/Ice Canyon/Mesa is to the south, and Ragni/Corkus is to the west. The mountains you're talking about are in the SSE.
