Dern Province Suggestion

Hi guys,

I'm just going to suggest a general outline of Dern. As we all know, Dern is a place of great evil. In order to enter Dern the player has to do a quest for the mages of Mage Island. The Mages have warned the King of Ragni that soon Corruption is going to take over both Wynn and Gavel. Evil is now inside the air. Both Wynn and Gavel have send their greatest warriors already to Dern, but they can't hold stand. Therefore, The Player will be given a chance to save Wynn and Gavel from Corruption. The (supposedly) Abandoned Mines gate to Dern is enchanted too look abondoned, but in fact, when this veil of enchantment is lifted, the gate will open acces. Now, most of Dern is completely destroyed and corrupted, but it will have three towns:

Just behind the gate lies the city of Vicvera. This is home to the Mages and heroes of Wynn and Gavel. The city itself isn't corrupted because the mages have cast a powerful shield spell over the city to reflect off the corruption. It's kinda like an oasis of light in the midst of a corrupted land. Lots of important people of Gavel and Wynn are living here, including important kights chosen by the kings of Detlas, Selchar, Almuj, Cinfras etc. The mages, and the people here, know that the magic shield is slowly losing it's power; The Player therefore has to venture into the Heart of Corruption to save the day. There are also lots of funny side quests in this Dern Town to wander off from the main storyline once and awhile. Also, the spirit of Bob will reside here and guide the player every now and then.

The two other town lie deeper within Dern. These are Noctura and Luxis. Both of these town have a crystal at their centre, a yellow and black one. Both this crystals have some kind of involvement with the whole Wynn Excavation Site storyline. There's little protection from these magic crystals, but these towns will actually be safe for the player. A quest series with these crystals will conjoin the lore of Gavel, Wynn and Dern.

A lot of the Dern quests will originate in Vicvera where the player has to venture out into the foreign lands of Dern to save lost heroes, sabotage the plangs of corruption and do discovering expeditions. Ultimately, the goal is to destroy the Darkness in the cores of the Corrupted Mountains. There's also a magic river called Nyxis flowing throughout Dern, starting a Vicvera and ending in the heart of the Corrupted Mountains; it's kind of like the Ash River in Asshai flowing into the Heart of Darkness from Game of Thrones. There will be a handful of corrupted biomes the player can explore.


In the attached file there's a sketch of the Dern province, excuse me for the bad quality. It's just a general outline. What do you guys think?

Cool idea, but I'm guessing they've already gotten Dern planned out by now, if it hasn't been for a long time. Sorry :(

This is a bad idea, just gonna say it now. And also, there is a stable gofernment in Gavel, meaning there is a King of Gavel, but no King of Cinfras.

But im not gonna lie, I like the work you put into this.

 

But only Wynn has corruption... Gavel has Decay(I think) and dern bas darkness(or whatever it's called)
