I'm pretty sure it is the gateway, it is where the Dern portal is located at...

Wrong. In the discovery in the mines you can see the miners found another type of evil that was "unknown" and that it was stopped because it was the last thing wynn needed. corruption =/= Dernic, and it's unrelated.

 

Did you read my theory? I didnt say corruption was dernic , I said it was created from the clash of the darkness that took over dern and the light from gavel (which makes sense since wynn is right between both provinces)

I think dern isnt a province the way corkus isnt a province , no one recognizes it as one because barely anyone knows about
and I think gateway island is one way of many to get into dern (it might even be an entrance to the realm of darkness)

 

Maybe since it got taken over by the Dern corruption, it lost it's recognition as a province

I agree with all of this, except for one point.

99% of this is stuff the community has accepted. Dern was normal until The Eye started taking is over (originally from the Realm of Darkness/Shadows) and now it's destroyed by darkness. Long lives are something that's also been accepted.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but almost everything here is just spitting up what other people have said. For you to call it your own theory, you need to provide some sort of new insight.

That being side, there's one point you mentioned that has not been talked about before. That's the one thing I disagree with.

The thing about Bob's Mom using time travel.

No one ever actually said all those things , heck I never saw someone write about dern not always being evil the only thing I saw that was accepted by everyone was bob's mom coming from dern which is just how i tied this theory with the current beliefs of people

Bob's mom using time travel is simply one way I suggested was possible for her to get from dern to wynn since currently there is no known way to pass between the 2 and Idk if you saw the secret discovery in the time valley or heard of it but I used it as a possible example

you saying "Just.... what? " shows that you probably didnt understand what I wrote since I made it very clear its just a possible option

I'm not sure, are you implying she's from the future or the past? To me it seems like an overcomplication

 

Im implying that maybe the only way out of dern after it was blocked was through the time valley , its a long shot and it probably wont be that complicated but I tried to give out all the possible explanations I had for bobs mom still being alive if the war started over a thousand years ago and time travel was one of them
also the discovery in the time valley has a grey skinned dead dude in it and it says something along the lines of him being an ancient being who understood the time valley or something along these lines I dont 100% remember which also made me think he might have been someone from dern who tried to pass through the time valley to wynn but didnt make it

 

However, we know there are openings, in (at the very least) the Abandoned Mines, maybe Gateway Island, and however the Ancients go through

IIRC he wasn't grey skinned. His skull was a wither skeleton skull, but that could just be evidence of bodily decay and necrotizing

Due to evidence from the Kingdom of Sand quest, there was definitely another race that lived in Wynn before the humans, I believe he's a member of that race, not from Dern

What was Dern's name before it became dark because dern means dark and wild

 

In the Wynncraft canon "Dern" doesn't actually mean "dark" or anything of the sort. The name was just chosen because it means dark in Middle English and they thought it'd be neat to name it that.

 

Dern is secretly the hideout of salted when he's lazing off from doing any server related work, that's all the lore you need
