The idea of a money sink is removing money from circulation. At the end it helps the poor.
If everyone set up a shop you'll barely see buyers

 

In my not so humble opinion, it's not hard to not be poor. You just have to be somewhat dedicated to making some money, and it's not very hard to do so without mythics.
Money sinks are a problem, yes, but just fix guilds, as others have said, that's a huge ass money sink right there.

There are multiple ways to 'deflate' and economy, watch some extra credits. :P

 

Removing the money from the circulation would only change the cost of an item but not the value of it. The cost of the item is depending on the currency. Removing money from circulation = increase of value of the currency itself, the cost is reduced but the value of the item remains unchanged

 

Aka deflation.

well my point is, inflation or deflation wont matter. Becuz both inflation of currency itself and the cost of an item are going together, and I don't see the rate of inflation of the cost of an item is rapidly outweighing the inflation of the currency itself, emerald are constantly dropped, new quests are being added, some items value yet not rising rapidly. It's only certain mythics price going up.

 

its not hard not to be poor, but it doe require a lot of effort. a lot of people just come online to play with friends and derp around once a week. not everyone can run a shop.

but it costs less

 

How to fix economy :

- Have less greed players.
- Have an other thing like horses (A pet training room ? They will finally have their past us back.).
- Have less greed players.
- Add rules on the market (Yeah not the best thing to do, but it can be useful.).

the mythics are pretty expensive, and are a huge money sink yes. But blaming mythics for breaking the economy is so stupid, like saying that is stupidly hard to be rich; like @orange0401 said, isn't that hard be rich, but you must spend a lot of time for reaching that goal, no one gets rich in 1 day, also there are a lot of others money sinks in the game not only mythics, what about horse breading? and guilds? and Nii and Uth runes? dungeon keys? forum shops? powders? there are a lot of ways to be rich but people want to spend a minimum effort and getting stacks and stacks of le in their banks for art of magic... being rich is not easy, you need time, determination and endurance and maybe some scamming skills idk.

If they aren't dedicated, they won't become rich without abhorrent luck. That's a good thing, if everybody were rich, as @JackyKit said, the currency IN EXCHANGE would over inflate to the point where everything is worthless. This is already happening, but on a much slower scale, as is standard for all economies.

 

but it does frustrate the player base, most of us cant play or devote our attention to wynn as much as we would like to, we have college and work to take care of.
normally it wont be an issue but it has come to a state that the poor players cant buy anything and you have a such inconsistent spread of wealth that only a handful of players outweigh the entire playerbase

 

If thats the case, why would you even care about the economy of a game you basically can't play due to time restraints?

The economy shouldn't even be an issue in that case, just play the game as an mmorpg?

Because when you have no time to play, you can't grind, so you need to buy the items you want, but you can't because the value is too high, because peoples who can grind are rich so they increase money more and more. That's like exponential function.

 

Then settle for less valuable items?

Godly items are, as mythics are, a luxury component. A build functions basically the same way without having the best items in the game..

 

This is because there is an inflation in the economy in real life, too, you know.
