"He's a traveler too. Travels all over the place. He collects jobs, gives them out, and he gets his living off well. Now he's getting the publicity to be able to pull it off at an incredible pace. You don't see him moving around too often while the sun's up, no. We'll wait 'til night and catch him around, since he's in town."
The weird waiter points at your mechanical half.
"If you don't mind much 'bout me asking, what about the arm there?"

“What about my arm?”

 

He inspects it from across the table and responds:
"Nothing. Just be careful not to scratch anything up."
He walks away and into the bar..

 

Puzzled, I look at my arm before scanning the room.

 

The musicians are still playing the song an aarakocra paid them to play. As people leave for the night, there's only a few other people sitting around eating and drinking.
The waiters aren't around anymore, and it seems that the bar is going to close soon.

 

“Di’n’t even bring me my fuckin’ drink...”
I mumble to myself before waiting for the waiter from before to engage me again so I can meet the mystery man.

 

I give him 1gp. I have no sp on me.

"You can keep the change if you want."
Once he's decided whether to make change or keep it as a tip, I'll begin eating.

 

So, I assume I eventually get my food and drink?

 

For the record I also have a mechanical arm

though mine is made from a jet black material and has no gears or moving parts visibile.

I get up and hand him a mostly untouched drink

Piplue:"I wanna be sobber for this here"

I take the drink.
“What is this?”

 

Yes, everyone should have the food they ordered by now. Lin's character gets his other rounds of ale as well.

He keeps it as tip.

 

Fine he's a tad tipsy as is...

 

The odd bartender approaches you after another waiter hands you your food and drink.
"What business have you here, might I ask?"

 

I just sniff the drink you gave me, untrusting.

 

Well if the bars closing up, I'll finish my meal and walk over to what ever table @Paradoxical is sitting at and talk to him.
"So what's the story behind that arm?"

I down a shot of whiskey before answering.

“I’m seeking work of the noble variety, I suppose. Penance might be a good word for it.”

 

As an artifcer would a recognise the arm and leg handiwork as trademarks of anyone special?

“Ah, and here’s the crowd I expected to draw. Surprising that it took as long as it did...”

I seem suddenly uncomfortable again.

“... as for the short of it, well, I lost a duel. Badly. I should’ve died. A lot of people who were depending on me died because of it. But for some reason, I attracted the attention of certain... higher authorities that decided my failure of a life was worth saving. I was repaired. Made... better.”

“I’m...” I drift off, evidently pained by the memory.

The waiter gives a very faint smirk. His eyes are concentrated on looking around your mechanical prosthetics, as if searching for something in specific.
"So, you're half machine then?"
