You hear distorted whispers coming from your new left gauntlet-bearing arm: “Fellow Torch. Let us destroy our opposition. Shatter.” Is this voice.. yours? It seems like no one else hears them.

 

"I think I've seen this sort of substance before. As in, being used for rituals to an oblivion god. I'd recommend getting rid of it."

 

"It's talking to me. In my voice."

"..."

"I will see how this develops. I'll get rid of it if it becomes a problem."

 

I sigh.

"I hope we have someone who knows how to amputate for when the inevitable eldritch mutation sets in..."

 

I just gesture to the large portions of my body that have already been amputated and replaced.

"I'm covered in that regard."

 

Iados puts away his bow and arrows, and while doing so he takes off his hat to run a hand through his hair.
Immediately, a streak of red light (like a crop field on fire from on area) runs along him.
His clothes are a darker brown with red insides, and his skin is no longer tan, but pure white. His eyes are a solid gleaming black, as well as his hair, now straighter and down to his jaw. On his forehead you see the semblance of nub horns.
He, however, doesn’t seem to notice, and looks around in the strange place.

 

"Were... Were you disguised as well..?"

 

Spoiler: Ordon

Mantikrim Nux: "I mean you no harm, my brother in arms. I aim to aid alone. You must know your enemy, the Oblivion. I know them. We know them."

 

Spoiler: Reply, if that's something I can do.

Ordon: "Hm. I will decide in time whether I can trust you."

 

You can think and it can reply.

I'm assuming you've backed away from the dead body, so the waters are calm again and there's not aggressive weather anymore. The false Ordon's arm just lays, inching towards the nearest person that isn't you.

 

Iados looks over at you, black eyes wide.
"What? Disguised?"
He looks down at his hat and looks back up at you, now his eyes are grey.
He hastily puts the hat on and re-assumes the previous look.

 

"Don't pretend I didn't see that. I'm not going to judge, but... Tiefling?"

 

I approach the arm, curious.

 

How panicked should we be about this since we know the IRL reason that Violatus isn't here?

"What exactly is your deal anyways? Because you don't strike me as 'sob backstory' like that magical girl over there."

 

Iados drops the disguise, eyes once again black.
”Yeah.”

He goes through a series of expression changes, with eyes shifting between black and grey and briefly red, before dismissively going, ”I just prefer to be anonymous.”

 

Put away my rapier.
"Okay, so thats two. Anyone else disguised?"

 

Depends on your character, but a whole person that you remember was there is gone.

If you choose to grab it: same description as what happened to Ordon, except the arm looks like his and attaches itself to your most dominant arm’s shoulder, clutching your gauntlet.

Mantikrim Ordon: “...We will do great. Shatter them into oblivion. Is that not what you want, my dearest outcast?” Is this whispering, distorted voice yours?

 

I smile, checking it out.
“Yeah, this’ll do.”

 

"I suppose we've traded limbs, in a way?"
