Corrupted Sentinels

How does the Corrupted Sentinel enemy in Nesaak work in lore? Isn't there supposed to be no corruption in the area?

 

There's still some...
..but the further south it goes, the stronger theorick's ice becomes...
thus making the corruption pretty much invisible
you can find an SD in the northern bit that provides the "theorick's ice slows corruption lore" by fighting some monsters at frozen over spikes

 

There is Corruption in Nesaak, it is just slowed.

Theorick's spell is what slows it, cold alone doesn't prevent the advance of corruption.

 

Why is it Theorick's magic specifically that's anti-corruption? If that's the case, is it possible to replicate the effect? Does Theorick have the more metaphorical power of being able to freeze anything? That would be interesting, but also OP, because it allows you to freely manipulate time (slow foes, slow whole world to make self faster).
