World Corrupted Realm.

so when are we gonna get free roam of this? will it become important later, or...no? i just can't help but notice the ravaged ragni in the distance and i really wanna see the rest of this world. just a way to walk from corrupted decrepit sewers to corrupted infested pit in this realm would be nice. would help with really establishing that it's more than just a small area for each dungeon.

and perhaps that's true, but i'm really curious as to how the rest of the world's got this going. how are places like selchar and troms doin'? is gavel still holdin' up? and what happened to the ice nations?

and furthermore, what do more important places like the temple of legends and the light forest look like in this realm?

 

Every area with a dungeon will have a corrupted counterpart. I don't belive they will make a whole corrupted world tho

IMO it's what happens 30 years in the future. I'm not sure if the current Christmas quest counts as lore or whether the lore will be replaced with the lore from the new Craftmas Quest, but 30 years in the future, Selchar is corrupted, which leads me to believe that the rest of the province is corrupted as well (and there's even more evidence with the existence of the corrupted dungeons). I'm not sure about Gavel.

 

it's a personal preference. don't take it too seriously. i am quite the comic, after all.

in any case...

that actually sounds like a reasonable theory. i mean, we do get to see how selchar would look 30 years in the future (or at least, until you realize you already did shit in the past to make sure it never happens, thus rendering the entire quest nearly meaningless in terms of future stuff) had that summoner guy completed his task.

something tells me that if we ever get free roam of the corrupted realm, selchar's gonna look more or less the same. :/

At first I thought you were going to suggest we add a new corrupted realm like the realm of light and I was going to tell you "That's the Nether, bud" and then I read it and probably you aren't going to get to at all, cause that's a heck of a lot of ground to cover and corrupt. At some point it'd just get samey for both the players and tedious for the builders and gms.

 

the Christmas quest was about how Santa became evil and turned selchar into a twisted Christmas wonderland, Selchar is not corrupted by the nether, but by the evil magic of Christmas.

also you also cause the stuff in the future (hint the object you gave Santa makes him go insane in the first place)

That quote is incorrect.

The issue is, the crystal cultists were on Selchar in the past, when the city was first being built. You go back in time, and break the relicstone, allowing Santa to deliver the presents over the 30 years they missed. But, having the relicstone on you when you time travel back to the present causes you to overshoot by another 30 years, at which point Selchar is destroyed, because Santa was overtaken by the magic of the dark relicstone, which you inadvertently give to him once you return to the proper time period. This is a stable time loop.

The order of events chronologically is,

30 years in the past, Selchar is being built, and you destroy the relicstone.
In the present, Santa takes the relicstone.
30 years in the future, Santa becomes corrupted by the relicstone, which you retrieve and bring back to the present.

Time travel is confusing.
