In the lore of the game, people don't consider Dern a true "province" as they just see it as a "Far off dark land".

Meaning, there ARE still 3 primary provinces. (Although you should still think of Dern as a province).

And I started thinking about the player. Now, you may now, or you may not, that I am very calculative and analytical. So when I started doing my calculations about the player, I realized the numbers did not add up to the story line or the lore. Something about Wynncraft is wrong, and it all starts with you!

Now I do want to note that I talk about Dern a bit in this, and I don't want to bore you with yet another Dern thread, so anything I say regarding Dern will fallow a 2 simple rules; 1: Not much is known about Dern or it's locations/inhabitants, 2: If we do talk about Dern's inhabitants, they will simply be regarded as endermen.

So with all those disclaimers out of the way, lets hop right in!

I want to set a simple understanding of how the provinces work. There are 3; Gavel, Wynn, and Dern. In the official lore it states that when Dern was discovered, it was "a 3rd province" meaning that there were only 2 known before.

Also, in Christmas Chaos, it is stated "Santa is a real man who delivers presents all over the three provinces..." This further proves that there are only 3 provinces. NO MORE THAN 3!

So, how does any of this break Wynncraft? Well, lets take a look at the player.

Who is the player? You may say "Oh, the player is a warrior/assassin/mage/archer from Ragni". And you would be correct, except the player is not from Ragni. The player did not grow up in Ragni. They they are first seen in a caravan going to Ragni. You enter the back of the castle, the side facing away from Wynn. It is stated in the very first quest, King's Recruit, by Honynn:

"Undeads! we are under attack! Use your weapon to defend us!"

"Don't worry about us! Keep going, quick! The King is waiting for you"

So, what does this mean? Well, first of all, he says "use your weapon" implying that you are the only fighter in the group. The second quote says that the king is waiting for you. Put these together, it implys that you came on the caravan going to Ragni. At Ragni the King is waiting for you to arrive, to add you to the army. This is reinforced why the king says:

"Aaah! A new recruit! You arrived just in time".

"Welcome to the province of Wynn!"

"Your job is to stop the growth of the monsters that ravage the province"

Still scratching your head at what here breaks Wynncraft? Well, look at the second quote. Welcome to the province of Wynn! He is implying that you are new to Wynn. So if you are not from Wynn, where are you from? Humans are from Wynn. Villagers from Gavel, and who knows what from Dern (For the sake of argument, lets say Endermen). You are not an Enderman, you are certainly not a Villager, but are you a human? If these species only exist in their own province, or in the Villager's case, spread to another province, where do you fit in. For you to be human, you need to be from Wynn. But you are not from Wynn. But you are human...

Do you see where the logic is starting to crack? There is only one loop hole, lets assume Endermen are not Dern's inhabitants, instead, you are. The player comes from Dern. But this has problems. Although Dern seems like common knowledge to Tom in Christmas Chaos, in the lore, it is very clear that not much is known about Dern. And if no one knows anything about Dern, then how could the King of Ragni know you were coming? Also, there are villagers in your caravan. They only exist in Gavel and Wynn. So if your caravan did indeed come from Dern, and somehow the King knew, why would there be villagers? The convoy could not have come from Wynn, as the king welcomes you to Wynn, and you could not have come from Gavel, since only Villagers were allowed there in this point in the story line.

So, you are not from Dern, you are not from Gavel, and you are nor from Wynn. But there are no more provinces. So something about Wynncraft's story line is broken. Wynncraft's entire logic therefor falls. The whole history is that the only way Wynn could survive was with the Villagers. But why did Wynn not call in recruits form wherever you come from? And why have we not heard of your homeland? Heck, you can't even have a homeland, since there are only three provinces.

We can keep running around this paradox forever, or we can accept the fact: Wynncraft's logic is flawed. Everything you thought, the basic principles of Wynncraft, is wrong.

This thread is from before we learned of Fruma. Heck, it's the thread where we first learned there was gonna be a fruma. It has "closed" in the title for a reason.
