Cancer: Should We Change Its Name?

Sure, that could be true. But they could have also just not have anything to say about the new item or the zodiac significance. I’ll guess we will find out soon.

 

I actually did, But I forgot to mention that if they wanna change Cancer's name and add a new one to fill in the Zodiac gap I'm fine with that, My main issue is that it simply does not make sense to me that someone would be offended by an item called "Cancer" existing in the game, Even in such scenario where the item is a direct and obvious reference towards the disease, The mere idea of someone complaining about this to the CT just seems overwhelmingly stupid to me, Cause like I said before- It's just an item in a video game, It's completely meaningless and absolutely harmless, And that's what I was addressing.
This just seems like an extreme case of drama seeking.

 

Well, I'm sure every person who died of cancer cares a lot about some block game drama. But still, I'm all for changing name and lore of existing cancer and making a new one, for the sake of accuracy with the Zodiac signs and better lore.

 

I bet you laugh at cancer-ridden patients on their deathbeds, dance on their graves in joy and get a good night's sleep after that.

 

Boi, I hope you’re joking. Just because you don’t want to change the name of an item on a Minecraft server doesn’t make you heartless against people with cancer. And just because you are offended by something doesn’t mean you have to white wash everything with a negative connotation and insult others. My uncle got throat cancer out of nowhere, yet I don’t demand that they change it for that reason. Neither does Vsauce, who’s own grandfather died of it.

 

Oh I'm not insulted, far from it since I want the name changed because the stats do not fit the zodiac. I'm pissed that people here are so pessimistic that they wouldn't even give a shit if someone on here said they're gonna commit suicide and these people would say "Do it. We don't fucking care."

 

That's extremely hostile and you're jumping really far to conclusions. The name is insensitive sure, but people not being bothered by it doesn't mean they're in support of people dying.

 

Being passive about suicide and not changing words due to SJW’s are two very different things. LordMuttonChops never said anything about suicide, he is just sick and tired about people complaining about things that are harmless.

 

First off, Would just like to mention I'm not one of those people, And I never in my life said such thing to someone I suspected is suicidal.
But come on dude, It's the internet, Could you seriously expect otherwise?
Almost always anyone who comes to the internet and says that he's going to commit suicide is some attention seeking 12 year old, Can you really blame people for reacting that way?
If someone really is suicidal he needs to get professional help, Not whine about it to people he never met on a platform where anyone could say anything.
Again, I'm not saying that there aren't any actual suicidal people out there who are legit when they say stuff like that on the internet, But just- Why? Why the internet out of all places?
Oh and let me remind you, The internet is a place where you can basically say whatever you want with it almost having no consequences what so ever... At least not direct ones, So of course people will abuse that ability to be as much of an assholes as possible cause there's nothing stopping them, You could call it "Their real self".

You'd be surprised but I have extremely low sympathy when it comes to people I've never actually met or got to know well.
Long story short- If I don't know someone, I don't, And won't, Care about his feelings (I don't mean this in the way of if I see someone dying on the street I won't rush in to help, I mean it in the way of I'm not gonna stop joking about something/talking about something just because a certain person is being offended by said thing).
If I find something funny, No one is gonna be able to stop me from having a good laugh at it, Yes even if the joke involves people having cancer, Hell I'm a jew that makes constant holocaust jokes.
Also I found that message incredibly funny, Unsure if you intended for it to be a joke or not.

It's easy to say that people which are offended by this name are too sensitive and should stay away from the internet if you are one of the lucky persons not being affected by cancer. We shouldn't judge people of seeking drama if we can't understand how they feel. Yes, there might be some people which lost relatives to cancer and are not offended (some even stated it here), but this doesn't matter as there are people who actually are; and we should respect them as much as everyone else.
Whats the problem with changing its name? The ids might fit the name (and they still would with a new name), but they don't fit the Zodiac theming, so a well fitting lore can't be the reason. To me it seems like some people just like to complain about "political correctness", thats the real drama-seeking here. As already stated before, this is just a block game, changing the name won't hurt anyone but may make some people feeling more comfortable with it. And be it just to stop any additional complains, whether they are serious or just for looking attention. Because they will come, again and again.

Tbh I dont really think anything needs to be changed
I feel like it takes effort to make the name/lore a problem
I havent had any problems
