Buff Normal Items

As it stand, Normal items are completely useless. They have no IDs and their damage is pathetic. Earlygame - when you have literally no other options - is the only time they will end up being used, at all, and after that, they're just chest padding. Even picking them up to sell them isn't really that viable, since the removal of Repair Scrap has nerfed the value of Normals even at the Blacksmith.

I suggest improving the health/damage of Normal items massively. Doubling it, or something. Enough that they might have equal or greater raw damage than Uniques and Rares, but, of course, have no IDs.

 

is that not the point of normals to be useless

however making them just pure health/damage is interesting

i feel like this will encourage the "pick armor with more health, pick weapons with more damage" mindset that most newbies have for a while (i had this til level 45)

also I love how I can physically see the way your mind works
step 1:you see a thread (in this case the mythic inflation thread)
step 2:you make a reply saying your opinions on how to fix the problem
step 3: 5 minutes later, you make a full thread for the idea.

They exist to be the fallback in case you cannot use whatever weapons are available and cannot get new ones, hence why one will end up in your inventory if you die without any usable weapons in your inventory

But giving normal items more base dps/health doesnt hurt anyone, and make the normal items somewhat viable. idk the exact value but 1.25 dps and 1.5 hp values i suppose

 

Honestly I've had this idea in my head of giving the normal ideas (specifically later level ones because this would be too op with early level ones) a ton of damage and hp, and NOTHING else

 

yes, before soul points were removed my friend got killed by a slime for afk-ing olux (this was before afk and /class not resetting profession nodes). When he got back, all he had was a normal level 70 relik. (i helped get him his stuff back, though that crafted chestplate will never return ;(. )

well how did you think you were going to do ANYTHING in the world of wynn without a weapon. (no damage, no spells, no movement, unless of course you have stuff in your bank, but that's not a guarantee. Do you like, expect them to walk back to ragni without dying and start again from the ground-up. (not level wise, but item wise))

 

i thought you would just get a few emeralds and buy a normal item but this way makes sense too

 

it makes sense, definitely, i've just never really thought about it or noticed it, so it was new info for me. someone could probably scavenge for some emeralds and buy a basic weapon if needed, but the system currently in place seems a lot better than that lol

isn't the fallback normal weapon the lowest level one (oak wood) or has things changed

 

i think it's based on level (you die and suddenly you're surrounded by mobs you can't kill doesn't feel right)
