World Brick-shattered Window Ratio Is Through The Ceiling. Or, Is It Through The Window?

So, there happens to be a small group in favor of the Elytra. While the majority, against. Y'all are making these threads more toxic than a Gigginox and Nerscylla doing the dirty.
While the chances of Class suggestions being considered are next to none, some of us out there like to dream. Or think up lore. Or both.​

All the hate I've seen aimed toward Elytra seemed to orbit back to one general idea, "how game-breaking it would be". I won't sugar-coat it, it would throw more wrenches around than a group of children left with a toolbox. HOLD ONTO THOSE BRICKS.
Though, aesthetics. Classes. Harpys/Phoenixes in the Canyons of the Lost.
I also happen to have a fetish find writing Class ideas entertaining.

Class: Harpy/Avian

Advances in science went awry as one scientist attempted a human-avian gene splice. These bird people are more brittle, however, make up for it with amazing feats of agility in combat, and attack most often with talons and claws. Though they do have wings, the avian creations are unable to simply take into the air, as the genetics were not perfected before the insane scientists' act - and life - were put to an end.

The user jumps into the air and forces themselves down onto the enemy in front of them. (Not under them/near them.)

Upgrade II: Mana cost reduced by 2.
Upgrade III: Attack deals High damage.

Maneuvering spell. The user snaps their wings out and flies forward a short distance. (Warrior's charge clone).
Damage: None
Mana: 4
Upgrade II: Boost does low damage if used toward an enemy.
Upgrade III: Attack stuns enemy for 4 seconds.

Jumping into the air and slamming into the ground with magic-influenced force, the shock wave sent out around the user can vary in strength. (Radius: 2 blocks.)
Damage: Varying (Low to High, like a 100-600 relationship)
Mana: 8
Upgrade II: Shock wave has a slightly wider radius. (Radius: 4 blocks.)
Upgrade III: Attack does increased Earth damage, as well as blinding the enemy for 3 seconds if they stood within a 1-block radius of the slam.

In blinding rage and a flurry of sharpened claws, you mar your enemy, leaving but a splatter of blood and flesh resembling ribbons.
Damage: High
Mana: 6
Upgrade II: Attack causes enemy to bleed out for 50/3 seconds. (Aka, Poison.)
Upgrade III: Attack knocks enemy back a few blocks.

TL;DR
Elytra would be aesthetic, restricted to one class. No jumping off Mt. Wynn.
