'Disable Golem' - there should be some way to disable the Golem, not sure how yet.
'Alter Target' - maybe to disable the Golem, we should somehow alter it?
'No Killing" - this possibly means we should destroy the golem without damaging it the ordinary way... but how?

Unsure of what yet to do, I shout out all the three lines, maybe they could work as a spell...

...I think I have an idea.
The lion head with lava coming out of its mouth has a purpose. Maybe if we have to kill the Golem in a non-physical way (NO KILLING), we should lure it into the lava somehow (ALTER TARGET). Maybe, if the lava doesn't kill the golem, it may disable it (DISABLE GOLEM).

Anyways, for experimentation, I run towards the stone lion, dip the sharp head of one of my crossbow bolts into the lava, and fire the bolt at one of the Golem's eyes.

 

I was going to investigate the lion, but ok.
I put on the white cloak from earlier and investigate the lion's head, but do not touch it

 

I would like to put on the lizard hat then read the journal

Times are hard. I cannot get much money, I’ve only got a few coins. My family is starving. I’ve prayed much more to the holy lion, that he shall gift us with the meat of his enemies. Our faith has many enemies at this time — most common people do not understand our lord’s great circle of life. Some must die so the others may live. Our temple was raided last night by enemies of our lord. Nobody was there except the bishop, who wanted to do some midnight praying. They killed him and wrote hate with his blood. They stole some lion statues. And they’ll come back. Something must be done.

I’ve stepped up as the new bishop, and I’ve created a golem with the help of a sorcerer. We had to pay him nearly all of our scrounged-together money, but the golem is strong. It should kill any intruders. Our faith is protected now.

There is then scribbles and a splatter of dried blood.

You investigate the lion. It’s a stone lion head with lava pouring from its mouth and into a pool below. You don’t see anything strange.

The golem advances towards Tsu.

You fire the lava-dipped crossbow bolt into the golem’s eyes. It deals 30 damage and the golem becomes vulnerable for 3 turns.

When you die, you’ll need to be revived by a teammate using a Rejuvenation Scroll. Everyone has 1 of those. Otherwise, you’re out for the rest of the battle. You took a holy lion potion, which buffed your damage at the cost of taking all the hits.

You fire an armor piercing shot at the golem’s head. It goes through the head and deals 100 damage.

You jump back on the golem. You had to get off to avoid getting hit by Tsu’s armor piercing round.

Yes, everyone gets one scroll per battle. And if the dead person had a scroll, other players can take it from them and use it on them.

For future reference, does a shield count as a weapon? e.e

 

Nah. If a shield comes up, it’ll be an additional thing that just gives a chance to block attacks. Although, I suppose it could be used as a weapon if you wanted to. It would not count as your weapon though.

 

I shall go back to the storage room with chests and look for items.
