World Bob's Lost Soul ( Clickbait!: 32+ Supposed Supporters )

    Do note that this post jumps around a bit, because I'm great at organizing.

    (Originally, the thread was to be about removing Depressing/Tear drops from Nesaak mobs and buffing the original mobs' droprate)

    I was initially okay with Depressing items dropping from Nesaak mobs, and I'm still mostly for it; it's not like Depressing items dropping from Ragni mobs made sense, either (how are either supposed to possess Bob's old useless weapons).

    However, I eventually got a Bob's Tear while grinding near Nesaak, for XP purposes. This, to me, doesn't make any sense. Bob's Tear should be a tear from Bob, right? Not some random bloodthirsty Wendigo. Of course, this would probably make Bob's Tear much more difficult to obtain, due to a lack of mob quantity. This can be easily fixed, though, simply by increasing the droprate of Bob's Tear from Bob the Zombie to a much higher value in that chest-thingy-that-controls-drops-and-droprates.

    This also led me to thinking about Depressing drops. Why not simply buff the droprate of Depressing weapons from mobs near Ragni high enough so that they drop fairly commonly? Well, I thought of a reason against my own argument soon enough, that being that you'd get inventories of Depressing weapons at a lower level.

    So what if we moved Bob the Zombie to Nesaak? Or had Bob the Zombie spawn everywhere (in the main areas) in Wynn? This'd match Tarod's dialogue telling us that Bob now roams the province, and would probably be a bit of a better option.

    Now, onto Depressing weapons. As mentioned earlier, it doesn't really make sense for these weapons to be dropping from mobs near Nesaak, or dropping from mobs near Ragni, for that matter. This is quite a bit of a stretch, considering the Content Team's workload already, but it might fit better with the theme of the quest involving a hero of the province, and not some random person that some people don't like because of how difficult it is to get into his tomb.

    Depressing weapons, even with the current Gameplay Update buff, are still somewhat difficult to obtain, at least in my recent experience. The quest may be less grindy, but it's still grindy. What if we added something else for Depressing weapon obtaining? Heck, why are they called Depressing weapons? Why not a different name?

    Roses. Why roses? This is never explained in much detail within the quest; it's only "soul magic works in mysterious ways," which seems somewhat of generic fallback explanation when nothing else works, which isn't a good thing. Maybe replace the rose with something else? Remove the rose altogether?

    Bob's Tear. Y'know what? I'm fine with that. It's at the very least related to Bob, and isn't horribly difficult to get, provided drop rate is increased and Bob is a little more active in his shambling travels.

    Bob's Tomb itself. Why do we just walk inside the tomb and finish it there? Maybe something to extend the part? The tomb's opening probably shouldn't be the severe minority; the hallway to get to Bob's grave(?) isn't even more than one block wide.

    I'm not much of an gameplay idea generator, hence the lack of actual in-depth explanation, so this is mostly surface level brainstorming. Maybe it's a decent idea, though? I dunno.

    this is usually what happens in real life when you give me a game i know a lot about
    and some guy that's very mildly interested in the game but knows virtually nothing about it

    TL;DR:
    • Don't have Nesaak mobs drop Depressing weapons and Bob's Tear (especially the tear).
    • Have Bob the Zombie spawn everywhere in Wynn.
    • Change the name of Depressing weapons.
    • Have a completely different "thing" for getting Depressing weapons, rather than endless grinding.
      • Maybe have magically enchanted snow lying around, enchanted from a Depressing's (potential) magic? @Karron
    • Change/remove the rose due to little reasoning.
    • Increase the grandness of Bob's final resting place.
    • I'm not good at making actual gameplay ideas myself, which is why this is so vague.

    maybeeeeee put the depressing items as low rate (not too low) weapon you can get in loot chests (mostly tier 2-1) around nesaak ragni detlas and almuj (I just gave a few popular cities for around the lever) so it will make sense like "oH I found this rare af weapon with the smell of bob on it I better keep it in a chest! (said a creepy villager and slightly disturbing and the kids of the town aren't allowed to go next to him or his house. this turn weird i'll stop.) and maybe call them ancient (bow, spear, dagger, wand) and have in their description (like in legendary weapons at the very bottom) "this item contains the power of a fallen legend but it doesn't seem like there's a way to use this power. is it locked by death?" (idk im not good with this)

    Well, in my opinion, having Depressings stored in something as common as a Loot Chest would be odd.
    especially with that backstory you gave

    you should find like a mob named "pile of good ol' white privilege snow" (or not THAT exact name.. whatever your dongle feels like) it will be hostile maybe ?? and it will be basically a block of snow (like the mimic beacon thing they added) and it has a chance of dropping the items if killed (as a drop. so it will be a mob but it will make sense like it's just lying around there and probably the magic that is coming from the weapons brought the snow to life. the villager likes to collect the living snow in jars so when he feels lonely he lets it cover him at night so he can feel the touch of something that has kinda life..

    I think that the reason why all zombies drop bob's tear or depressing items, is cause they are just monsters that happend to pick up another zombie's items. I do agree with the rose though, it's kind of inexplicable and makes no sense.

    Depressing weapons, maybe, but Bob's Tear in particular doesn't make a whole lot of sense. A zombie'd have to go up to Bob the Zombie and wipe a tear off his face.

    Haha, i laughed at that. Bob the zombie is crying though, so his tears would be all over the ground.
