The water is actually made of homemade candy dyed a teal-blue to represent the frozen lake in that section of Detlas. The process involved mixing sugar and corn syrup together on a stove, boiling it, and allowing it to reach a stage where it turns hard and cracks. Once it reached that temperature, it was poured from the pot into an indented section of the scene and allowed to harden, giving it the glassy, transparent look of frozen ice.

The leftover candy was poured onto a silicone sheet and, when hardened, was shattered like glass to create the various icicles seen on the rooftops and background. The overall result of the candy was well made and acted as a good addition for any icy, wintery bits that snow itself couldn't do alone.
