Blizzard Brawl 2025 Opinions and Suggestions

Alrighty, Blizzard Brawl, second year, let's do this!
(This is not super duper duper thought through, I'm just getting it out there)

Spoiler: DPS

Tom - Still needs to be removed or completely reworked. Long-Range High Damage is not a good idea unless the game is built to house it, and Blizzard Brawl is just not.
Rickeo - They killed him, he's still annoying. Complete rework. Unsalvageable concept.
Irlok - Dash being the damage dealer is not fun to play or fight. It should probably just be a dash. Slam is much more fun, and much more fair, because of being dodge-able.

DPS Classes are just a problem. The role they fill is just damage, which every other class already fills, DPSes are just more annoying about it. They're just dead weight.
On Tom and Rickeo, I found this really interesting. I think that the victims of a Tom don't really have agency in their deaths. There is no mistake to learn from when dying to a Tom, except "do not play."
Rickeo has a similar issue, though he's kinda dead now, which is good. By being in the basic range of Blizzard Brawl, mid range, you are punished by being lassoed and burned and stunned. It just doesn't work.
And on Irlok, I think the Slam gave much more agency to the victims than the Dash, and it's just way more fun to use (and fight).

Spoiler: Tanks

Theorick is still pretty fire. (I guess not really, but still)
Dr. Legendary is still kinda stupid, not gonna lie. His abilities feel scattered and too spread out. Is he a Tank? Yeah. Is he a DPS? Well, seems like it... Is he a Support? Well, that over health is pretty supportive if you ask me.
When you have a ton of rockets being thrown at you, it kinda sucks to get slowed down, such that you can't RUN AWAY. He has a lot of potential as a 'Push Class' of sorts, or, in English, a DPS Tank. He's just really weird right now...

I love Gawrick :)
Hailey is really lovely too, no complaints (Though, Hailey shouldn't be able to charge Ult on full health targets, that's just OP)
Yahya... He's just a bit too OP. He's a bit too good at being a DPS class and a bit too bad at healing to be a Support class. Salted plz fix.

Oh yeah, wanted to say,
Yes, I know reworks must wait, just want y'all to know. Maybe put the classes on hold until you can rework them, like what you did to Rickeo,
And, I've noticed that the BB team seems a bit scared to add proper drawbacks to some classes, which is bad because the only thing to do when they're unbalanced is to nerf them into the ground (see Rickeo), and double bad because even if they're made useless by nerfs, they're still annoying, because they still aren't held back. (see Rickeo)
By "Proper Drawbacks" I mean drawbacks that can't be nullified by skill.
Tom is the most egregious example of not having proper drawbacks, because of a higher skill floor being the only "drawback" in sight.
A good example of proper drawbacks is actually Hailey, because, no matter how good you get, Hailey still has bad self-sustain, and terrible damage, which makes her want to heal her team, so they can protect her.

 

Oh, and PLEASE add team-based Matchmaking (making team Elo even, so that teams are less likely to steamroll) if it ain't there already. I DON'T WANNA STEAMROLL STOP QUEUING ME WITH SWEATS AAAHHHHHHH

This game is practically on a timer, and when it's up, the game dies. Once people are skilled enough, they will just steamroll every game, and it'll become even more of an unapproachable sweat-fest.

 

CRACKPOT IDEA!!!
Butcher health packs for Gawrick so that he relies on his team.
The classes need to have a hole in their strength that is filled by other classes, so that they can't just solo. No player wins alone. (Or at least no player should be able to)

Apparently Legendary and Yahya got nerfed.
Pretty cool, pretty cool. I'd call y'all responsive, except for the fact that Tom is still practically untouched. (AKA he still exists)
I dunno what those Discord people are saying, but, if Tom is staying in cause of them, I'm scared for Blizzard Brawl.
People who don't want Tom gone are most likely a loud minority. I play Hypixel, so I have lots of experience with that kind of thing.
I am begging you, put him on hold until you can rework him, he is killing Blizzard Brawl.

 

NO SELF HEALING! It's been OP all the THREE TIMES you put it on a class. Yahya is barely a "Debuffs Support", BARELY A SUPPORT, he's just RICKEO, AGAIN.

Scratch that, Self-Healing could be balanced, but only with drastic downsides.
Think about it like this: Every upside should be counter-balanced by a downside that encourages players to lean further into their upsides.
My classic example, Hailey. Hailey's low sustain and bad damage encourages her to use her healing well, because her teammates can protect her.
Self-Healing should be counterbalanced by forcing players to use it, or, (this hasn't been thought through for days, but) classes that can Self-Heal should not be able to heal from other sources, such as teammates or Health-Packs.
I'd have to think about it more, but, maybe, with something like that, Gawrick could get some of his self-healing back, maybe teleport healing, and he'd be forced to be more aggressive, since he couldn't just dip out and come back fully healed. Same for Yahya and maybe Rickeo, though he needs a lot more work.

 

I think I'm going to stop playing Blizzard Brawl for now. The game and its community is, I'll be honest, making me pretty angry whenever I interact with it, and I don't want to feel that way.
I wish good luck to the developers, even though it isn't luck that's making Blizzard Brawl like this.

 

This post is truly the echochamber of stupiditiy you cannot be real the only somewhat valid complaints you had in tbe inital post here are about helping rickeo cuz yahya was js better than him, nerfing tom rmb, and nerfing yahya(i think anyone with 2 braincells could have gotten the second part though)
People in the blizzard brawl feedback section of discord are not that toxic to interact with, i think you just simply came out of nowhere badmouthing the people in there, dropped some very misinformed opinions, and got clowned on for acting pompous in game and on discord
If you just talked to the people in the thread like a normal person and didnt come into it knowing you werent going to change your mind, you might have actually sparked an interesting discussion about the game and learned some counterplay or game design, but instead you just aggravated and ragebaited everyone active in that thread and kind of got ganged up on by everyone there

Anyways rant aside i hope u can find it in you to adapt to blizzaed brawls new meta and get feedback/pointers on gameplay from discord when you ask politely and possibly give some more reasonable feedback(mfw get rid of an entire character and reworking the entire game is not reasonable), its a fun seasonal minigame after all and it would be a shame for you not to be able to experience the second best minigame :3

I dunno if I'm just an idiot or what, but I don't really see what you mean for some of this.
I do only have my brother to talk to about this stuff, so I may be getting stuck on things cause of that.
I was definitely getting angry, sorry about that. I've gotten really fed up with Hypixel (I play on Mac, so I can't play most better games), so I've gotten pretty salty.
I haven't seen any reasonable arguments for Tom not being badly designed, but if you could share one, that'd be interesting.
I probably should've asked people to share their counterarguments with me, so I wasn't just talking to myself here.
