I’m sure everyone here knows about the infamous ‘Black Box’. If you don’t, it’s the black cube you often get teleported to when you’re using a teleporter - it first tps you to a small black room, and that tps you to your actual destination. However, it is commonly known that these can often glitch out and leave you stuck in this
box with no way out except /kill.

Yesterday I was doing the quest ‘A Meaningful Holiday’ and found something very interesting in it after I was stuck in a black box near the end. The box you get teleported to has a small button at the top that teleports you to the destination if you get stuck in the box. And so I thought, why not add those to all black boxes? Just a single small button on the cieling that teleports you to the place you were originally intended to go if it glitches and doesn’t send you there.

Most black boxes work on an incredibly simple basis of triggering tripwire hooks which power up command blocks. However, seeing as the black boxes' issue is about the redstone permanently turning on due to a new player entering before the tripwire has sprung back, or a similar reason, a button wouldn't do anything. While powering a line of already powered redstone doesn't do much, you might think that it should be turned off first. Sure, this is possible, but it'd always result in the executable commands being ran twice or more if multiple players were present. One way to get around this issue would be to halt any new players from entering until the previous user had been teleported away. However, not only would this result in the need for more work and command blocks, but also wouldn't be compatible with what the black box leads into. As a good example of this are long cutscenes such as Fate of the Fallen's, and minigames such as Mixed Feelings', which if I remember correctly, takes upwards of a minute to pass. Another thing to consider is the sheer amount of black boxes which are scattered throughout a plane of 40,000^2 blocks. Locating every single one and applying the fix to each one individually based on their needs would be really, and I mean really tedious job.

That's not to say that something shouldn't be done about them, but a simple measly button certainly wouldn't cut it. Who knows though, maybe there'll be a more reliable and efficient method for black boxes eventually! ;D

I see now, thanks for explaining this. I was just thinking it would be cool to have it since it’s already used in some quests, but now I see the issues with that.

The same applies as this, so I left it out of the question:
And in addition to that, what if there's 3 people then? Should there be 70 copies of the same contraptions just to make sure they don't have a chance of breaking?

Also to clarify, the point of black boxes is to activate something that players are about to enter, not just teleport. They wouldn't even exist if multiple commands didn't need to be run in a sequence. Having multiple copies would allow players to execute the same commands twice or more without any precautions, and would most likely break anything they're intended to activate. With all this in mind, note that you'd need to modify both the boxes and the contraptions they're linked to for half a thousand boxes. Doesn't seem too realistic of a goal, does it?

Could a mod lock this since it’s obviously not going to work and is pretty pointless.
