SPOILER (Bit of a rant) the Dwarves & Doguns questline feels a bit outdated

there's a lot of valid critique about the writing of d&d but this... doesn't make any sense? the political environment of molten heights was very much not ready for diplomacy at the start of the quest - that's kind of the whole point. also, the war itself starting had very little to do with the actions of the player

 

okay but who could forget the famous ending to d&d part 3:
imagine witnessing a giant war about to happen and instead of immediately helping you’re told to go grind like half a level

 

Yeah, I suppose thay didn't quite work out but the war only starts after the player joins which may or may not be a coincidence

It's especially strange considering that the other q7est at that level is tff2 which takes half an hour to complete

Story-wise, AS2 is one of the worst quests, if not the worst quest in the game. AS2 removes whatever agency and motivations Orphion had by making him a bumbling idiot who despite being a primal god of light, can’t even communicate with his followers. It does nothing to help Lari, an already disliked character, making her seem even more weak and useless than before. To add to its already impressive pile of flaws, it destroys the direction and purpose of the player’s storyline as well as the game’s key theme of the dangers of greed, redirecting the blame of the game’s main “antagonist” onto a long-dead character and a simple misunderstanding. Topping it all off, AS2 isn't even related to AS1 in any way. It doesn't even find any use for the Elven Medallion, which at least got one in the old version.

D&D is considered outdated now? Man I feel old, in my eyes its still a "recent questline"

 

Not that the questline itself is all that old, corkus wasn't all that long ago
It just feels like it was made longer ago because of the style of the quests

 

the elders have some post-quest dialogue that implies theyre probably not going to do this
