Wow. I seemed to recall I got the quest at like 40-something. My bad.

I am now 67 with equally little luck.

It's terrible.

 

Throw him in lava before he uses the spell, then spam everything. I reccomend using thunder weaponry since he's a water mob and most are weak to thunder

 

Here are the Treasure Guardian's stats(at least the relevant ones).

Health: 15000
Regen: 750(all mobs regenerate once per 10 seconds)
Basic attack: Melee(walk towards target and deal damage on contact)
Vision: 16 blocks
Neutral Damage: 200-400
Fire Damage: 50-150
Water Damage: 50-150
Spell: Arrow Storm(shoot 10 arrows rapidly towards the target)
Spell Cooldown: 5 seconds between casts
Spell Damage: 20%(per arrow)
Fire Defense: 100
Water Defense: 100
Thunder Defense: -200

Aside from an approximate 50% health increase and the rapid-cast Arrow Storm, this 'boss' is actually only as strong as a "Tough" strength enemy, not a "Boss" strength. Bring a thunder weapon and be prepared to hide behind the pillars at a moment's notice with your movement spell. The Sarnfic Citizens essentially only serve to block your attacks here. If you have spells that utilize mostly thunder damage such as Teleport or Spin Attack, use them to the fullest extent.

 

Wait, there are tiers of mobs? I had no idea. I just thought it was normal mobs then boss mobs. What are the tiers?

 

Weak, Normal, Tough, Boss. There are guidelines for each that GM's must follow, though for superbosses such as the Corrupter of Worlds the trend is bucked., and there are inbetweens for each tier(there are mobs halfway between weak and normal, mobs halfway between normal and tough, etc.). The Treasure Guardian would technically fall between Tough and Boss due to its increased health, but in practice it may as well just be a particularly endurant Tough.

 

The thing is though, the Treasure Guardian seems to teleport around while doing Arrow Storm which also seems to last longer than 10 arrows, making him hard to hit and hard to live while he does it. I've fought other mobs with the same spell yet they don't teleport around, would this be a bug on the Treasure Guardian's part or is it supposed to be able to teleport around rapidly?

This is an issue with the new mob system. In order to freeze mobs during spell casts before, they were given Speed 255(rounds back to 0). However, under the new mob system, these effects take place properly, so they are given a temporary 5100% speed boost while casting spells. This makes the spell extremely dangerous. This will be patched eventually. But, I can confirm that Arrow Storm only lasts for 10 arrows.

Even for me as a Mage the quest was really hard, if your a Mage or archer the best you can do is stay out of his agro or attack range. I took me quite a while to kill him as he is able to one shot you.
EDIT: he doesn't one shot he just does a ton of damage. A very large amount of damage.

 

He deals 300-700 damage. The issue is his spell unintentionally gives him a massive speed boost which makes getting hit by every arrow of his Arrow Storm almost inevitable...yet it only deals 200% damage if every hit connects...

 

Wow that was a fast response, but yeah he does a lot of damage and the speed boost sadly makes him run into the lava any time I got close to killing him, though I did complete the quest eventually. Still a pretty annoying mob.

 

28 hearts? My lv 74 warrior doesn't even have 28 hearts, I have 7k health.

 

With full points in defence the armor you get is higher health. I have 10K health and change, I think.

 

what level are you???? but the thing is you shouldn't put all your points on one skill, as it could mess up gameplay later on.

 

I know. It was solely for the purpose of testing how terrible this boss was. Normally I have a more balanced build.
