Bad FPS

Wsg guys, I've noticed lately that I've been getting HORRIBLE fps on the server, like i get lag spikes every idk 15 seconds which could last sometimes even like 5-10 seconds and also send me down to 0-1 fps.
I've tried to do stuff like allocate more ram (I've allocated 5 rn and that's bc I only have 8GB of ram) but that has barely helped. It's really starting to piss me off as I'm trying to show my friend how to play and that gets really hard when I get lag spikes every couple of seconds. The only other thing I noticed was that if I'm in a part of a quest where I get tp'd to a replica of the actual map and there is no mobs then the fps is fine, so it could be mobs. Anyhow that's kinda it. Thanks.

 

I recomend installing mods like sodium or lithium if you haven't already, it will boost your fps a bit if you mess with the settings

 

For me, lag spikes occuribg periodically was indicative of bad ram usage... Bobby sometimes experiences memory leaks
If you use Bobby, try something like Voxy.
And in general sodium, lithium, entity culling, ferrite core, etc.
