glow squid literally does nothing
how is it any better

 

I mean I suppose they would look cool in the caves, but I still think the Iceologer would have been the best option, especially with the new mountains

 

i hope they add something cool for glow squids like luminous ink
the hypnosis effect was kind of confirmed during the stream so i can tell everybody is going to hate them and wish they voted for the iceologer
so can you really say we lost?

 

I mean for the biome votes they said they were gonna add those features eventually, so maybe the other mobs will be added ?

And they have a chance to fix the awful squid AI so there's that

 

Yeah but the thing is it could just literally be a copy and paste of the regular squid, ran through a resource pack so you can see it in the dark. Personally, I think the texture they showed in the video was hideously ugly, huge blue spots that glow that look identical to its eyes?!

Whereas the Iceologer, it can act as a mini boss with unique attacks, potentially farmable ice, looks really cool (IMO), and is all around not just a copy and paste of the evoker. (+ the iceologer's model could be used in wynn more easily than the glowsquids?)

People always say that the phantom was a bad choice and that the Iceologer would just be 'another phantom' but the phantom adds a sense of challenge if you summon them. If you don't want the challenge just sleep, go into creative or if you want survival, go into peaceful mode. If your in a mode that allows mobs to spawn, then you clearly want a challenge, no?

Doesn't really matter to be honest. The cave update is going to be so big and game-changing that the glow squids will either be forgotten or hated
Archaeology, copper, crystals, huge caves, telescopes, axlotls, storage bags, stalagmites, stalagtites, lush caves, wireless redstone, wardens, goats, beautiful mountain generation and more are going to completely overshadow the glow squid and nobody will care at all

 

Let's talk about the other new stuff though

New caves look cool, I wish dripstone caves were the norm but oh well
The wiki says stalagmites can deal damage, what
Stalactites can drip water to fill cauldrons but who cares tbh
The telescope is pretty cool, but if it has durability no one will use it, and neither will anyone with Optifine
Lightning rod can be used for charged creeper farms and to mess with people, also looks like a cool decoration
No clue what a sculk block is, wireless redstone thing apparently idk
The bundle is honestly amazing, not just for exploring in survival but for servers and mapmakers as well
Archaeology - I don't see why anyone would care tbh, people already create their own ruins and ancient burial grounds, why bother excavating these things just to make ugly clay jars
The axolotl looks cool. Unfortunately, now they're adding two new aquatic creatures in the same update. I retract my vote for the Glowsquid, in Iceologer gang now, axolotl > glowsquid
Warden is really cool, I hope he's not too intrusive, but it's neat to see an enemy acting as an obstacle instead of a resource, as is the case for every other mob in the game.
Copper is gamer epic gamer but we don't yet know under what conditions the things turn green so that could mess up tons of builds if wrongfully implemented. Brilliant colour though
Glow berries: ok
Amethysts: get 15 of them to make a basic grappling hook nice purple, but if it's really really rare and only used for telescopes I don't think many will care
Powdered snow: wiki says nothing about them yet but seeing as snow will no longer exist in 10 years it'll be cool to still have it in Minecraft
Pie blocks - incredibly cursed I love it, can't wait to sit in them
Nothing was revealed about the new mountains afaik, which I find disappointing because it's the feature I'm looking forward to the most. I live in the Netherlands, to us a molehill is monumental so just give us some mountains please

 

problem with dripstone is

In fact, it 1 shot the zombie that landed on it from 2 blocks above so it would be too dangerous

It's a cool detail though, the only way I see it being useful is if they remove infinite water sources which would make people pretty mad. It could make some kind of timer with cauldrons and observers i guess.

Telescope has infinite durability. I think it is a good alternative to optifine for vanilla users as well as bedrock edition players

These are something I've always wanted in minecraft and I was glad to see them get announced

They detect players too, making tripwires pretty useless

I see a lot of cool ideas for the bundle and it's a nice early game alternative to shulker boxes.

You can get diamond blocks from it, possibly being more effective than mining. It also allows you to create gravel and dirt slabs which is pretty cool. It also gives the player an isolated feeling because of there being ruins of some other person in their world.

Axlotls will kill glow squids so that'll be entertaining to play with. I also like how such an obscure creature made it into the game.

He adds an extra layer of difficulty to mining and actually has some really cool AI mechanics that could someday be seen in Wynncraft. He cannot see the player and will walk towards sound. If he finds the player he can 2 shot them if they are in unenchanted netherite armor. The strategy included is really cool and gives snowballs a use in mining.

I assume you'll be able to use a gamerule to prevent it from updating. It probably only rusts when it is in contact with air, similar to how copper works in the real world. Copper and rusted copper are probably 2 separate blocks so it can easily be used in building. I hope to see more ores (prismarine ore please) in the update.

Is that how the mountains will look then, cause if so, I'm hyped, especially look at the clouds too, that would mean that those things are huge!
