Hello, I'm Easterbreakurre with a new review for my weekly series of Shit Anime I Watch While Split-Screening Professions. As always, the review will contain spoilers as I have low respect for people who'd want to watch these shows.

This week I watched MM! for three reasons; it's been on my plan-to-watch for the longest time, it was throwback-week on r/animemes just a while ago and I needed some trash to watch. With this in mind, I approached the anime with no expectations, which weren't definitely exceeded.

MM! tells of a dense MC-kun with a single particular character trait: he's hella masochistic. He then joins a school club with cute, one-quirk girls in hopes of curing his "disease", and the anime ends there. After this there's 11 episodes of filler where MC gets abused and the viewer may start noticing discrepancies in anime morale, or lack thereof.

Something I found rather ironic was how a show about accepting embarassing sides of yourself was also immensely heteronormative. In one of the episodes, the main character turns gay and the plot turns into fixing him back. Even though nice guy MC promises to accept even the most perverted ways of his cross-dressing friend, the characters are all homophobic by the roots. I'm not really a SJW so I'll just write it off as a cultural difference, but it sure is funny to think about.

As a production, it fills my criteria of a "trash anime" quite well. The characters were all one-dimensional with minimal development, episode writing was a mess pace and plot-wise and there was nothing particularly enjoyable in the whole of 12 episodes it ran for. The art and animation wasn't an outlier by either definition, though the character voice acting was still the high level you'd expect from Japan.

Something I'd really like to point out and shun is the purple girl's character arc, which occurs in episodes 2 and 3. In short, she's afraid of men due to an incident during middle school where she was physically abused by a classmate. A very serious topic, which MM! handles very childishly. When MC-kun is informed of this incident, he does what any logically functioning anime high schooler would do and supports his good friend and recommends her mental health professionals to help with her trauma.
Yeah I'm just kidding. He actually goes vigilante, beats up the assailant and takes pictures of him for blackmailing. With this, purple girl now suffers from her androphobia for the rest of the show, but at least she now kinda likes MC-kun.

I've talked a lot of shit about MM! now, but i'd like to point out that "trash anime" isn't necessarily a bad existence all-together. As I wouldn't want to waste the value of a well-produced and thought-producing show by only paying half-attention to it, I'm glad this type of series exist.

Can only recommend if you're looking to waste time on brainless content or wish to train your taste of entertainment in recognizing trash. The ending was nice, though that might just be my associations from playing a remix of it on SM before viewing.

This time, I watched the awaited continuation of the world-known masterpiece, Miru Tights.
As a life-long fan of the parent series, you can imagine my hype when this special was announced. Finally, I found the time to indulge myself in this heavenly creation.

Miru Tights is about looking at tights. The anime makes its point completely clear and fulfills its objective in each episode. There are three main girls who do mundane shit each episode while the camera pans on their legs. That's Miru Tights.

The special episode featured the main girls preparing who I will refer to girl A for a photo shoot. To "relax" girl A going into the shoot, girl B gets the idea of taking some pictures of the two together. Girl C acts as the photographer. The special is basically softcore lesbian porn with strange 3D-lineart and a fog filter. As in the parent series, the tights are exceedingly detailed in comparison to the rest of the art, but you don't really notice if you know where to look.

Watch it if you have a foot or pantyhose fetish

I do not agree, atlas is bad, im leveling an assassin for more damage now and atlas dosn't give damage, so no atlas for me
