Is life steal or health regen better for heavy mele

 

lifesteal is alot better
you got super slow atk speed which helps you trigger it easier
and since it is a melee build, well, you will be using your melee lol

 

Life steal procs once every 4 seconds on average, if you hit a single enemy non-stop.
Health regen procs once every 4 seconds regardless of anything.

Life steal proccing once every 4 seconds is an average and even when hitting a single enemy non-stop you can easily come in the situation where it doesn't proc for over 10 seconds.
The only time where life steal is better than health regen (assuming the amount of life steal/health regen is equal) is when you are hitting several enemies at once with your melee attack.

Also, when you're at low HP and need the healing the most, getting out of their and heal via health regen is alot safer than via life steal at melee range.

Having said that. life steal is easier to get higher numbers for than health regen and a fair few bosses do spawn minions making hitting several enemies at once a more likely occurence than you might think. They're both pretty good for heavy melee.

This build is extremely fucking stupid
can you help improve it in the cost/mana sustain area also some extra health sustain would be helpful

 

Class: Warrior / lvl 103
Playstyle: I like spamming the Bash Spell and let spells do most of the work.
Restrictions: Haven't completed '???' and 'The Qira Hive' but both can easily be completed if need be. I have about 2 stacks of LE to my name.
Preferences: Preferably a fast-ish weapon, definitely not NEEDED though. If a slower weapon works better with a certain build I'd be happy to use a slower one. No element preferences.

you want a slower attack speed on builds using life steal or mana steal, because slower attack speeds have a much higher chance of activating lifesteal/mana steal on a melee hit, as well as requiring less clicks - with this build you will ideally be spending all almost all of your time casting uppercut and bash in quick succession, with occasional melee hits.

of note: you should cycle spells (uppercut-bash-uppercut-bash-melee-repeat); casting the same spell multiple times in a row makes the spellcost go up so spellcycling is very important yes

the damage on paper is low, but the real power of this build comes with time rift and courage recasts -- using the powder special gives you a 50% overall damage boost and time rift has a chance to double-cast your powder specials (as well as your spell and melee hits! allowing you to charge powder special even faster); in ideal scenarios this build will be spamming ~20k uppercut while facetanking most enemies

also it has a boatload of lifesteal so thats cool

the build is also quite far off meta so most of the items should be relatively cheap to get

Not the hardest-hitting build, but favors bash spell (combined with uppercut) and has some decent tank and sustain.
Requires completion of Earth and Water hive divisions, but not the Qira boss fight.

EDIT: The build is spellsteal black btw, this means that its a spellspam build but with your mana sustain coming from mana steal, meaning you need to melee every 2 seconds to get mana.

Spellsteal is better than mana regen on assassin because mana regen doesn't tick in vanish, and of course you're going to spend a lot of your time in combat in vanish, which in practice really slows you down if you have mr assassin. In contrast, you can always just melee when coming out of vanish to do a spell combo, thus getting mana.

Super-slow is the preferred attack speed with spellsteal as you'll get the most consistent steals that way.

This is a super restrictive request and I don't think there is necessarily a "good" solution here. This one is tomeable but has horrible mana (just don't melee and use mr food or something idk)

mmmm subpar spellcost...

finesse instead of summa makes this usable without guild tomes

 

Pro Tempore with Cinderchain gets more damage by a bit and not sure if it can sustain (probably can because you got chain lightning) in terms of mana and life sustain but I think it can sustain in both.

 

I didn’t wanna recommend it because Pro tempore isn’t necessarily super noob friendly with how hard its either to roll OR how expensive it is to buy, but you have a fair point.

Now, at first you may think this has really low hp and mana regen, which is true, but you’ve got to remember the existence of EHP. (ehp stands for effective hitpoints, basically hp after calculating in defense and agi)
As for the mana regen in the build i posted it is more than enough for a 1-1 spell combo. Mages overall spellspam is significantly lower than for example assassins and archers and you should never underestimate how little mana a 1/1 combo drains.

Oh, it also has 5k more meteor damage. (why did you initially add fire powders tothe nepta?)
