Are Crafting And Gathering Skills Mandatory For Quests?

I am a level 40 archer and I have my gathering skills all at around level 20 and my crafting skills even lower, pretty much all under 10. I'm wondering if there are any quests in the future that require higher levels of crafting or gathering and if I need to start grinding. And if I do have to start grinding, is there any advice on how to grind gathering and crafting skills quickly

 

no you dont need to do professions to do quests.
(except some quests in 1.20 but they have low reqs so whatever)

No, crafting is in no way required. If you are new to the game it is best to just skip it, it is a huge grind.

The thing is that they are really, really long and mindless grind for hours, so it is better to just skip them and shorten your playthrough several times
