Couple hundered miles later you stumble on a scene.

There's a cart with it's wheel broken off.
There is a horse attached by the rope to a nerby tree.
The cart has straw as it's inventory, thought it stinks to a high hell.

You can't see anyone nearby.

Judging from tracks where did it come from?
What did it look like it was carrying? (Just Hay seems a bit off..)
Did the person sending it seem to have high status?
How grown is the grass around the horse as well.

There are a lot of caluculations.

After you attack with your katana, you're about to do roundhouse kick, when the ramining tentacles slam into your body.
Even though the beast is almost dead it's still somewhow standing .
