Okay, this is getting dangerously close to flame war. Everyone needs to chill out and if you try to continue your arguments further points will be given and the thread will be closed.

 

My last wybel thread was closed because someone got mad at my art. This is not right... and to all y'all, maybe before you start arguing, you could just say that I am a bored guy who knows how to utilize photoshop... IMO, wybels were cute until they became overused.

 

I gave a general warning to everyone, just dont start flames in the thread. Its not being closed at this time.

 

I still don't see why I should be punished for expressing my own opinion and other peoole disliking it...

guys... this is LITERALLY what I am doing right now. I am farming orange wybel. So far, I have killed him more than 60 times. Just think of all the ordinary wybels had to kill to vs him each time.

I hate having to repeat myself, so this is really a bother for me. Let's get a few things straight: First, any artwork submitted on any forum ceases to be the property of the artist unless a specific contract was drawn up by the artist and the owners of the forum. That has been the rule in most countries, as far as I have been able to find. Again, I'm no lawyer, and if someone can show me a more recent decision, I'll accept it. Second, and this really ticks me off, because I've posted this link before in a thread concerning all of you, so read it this time, and keep it in mind, there is this thing called FAIR USE. The art work used in here falls under fair use guidelines, including the art used for some of the forum member's avatars. I can just imagine the hilarity that would happen if anyone started protesting the fair use of some artists work for avatars. The protestor would become a laughing stock. Third, the art work being used is NOT sacrosanct. Stop treating it like it is. Yes, I know that I'm a little late to this discussion, and yes most of the low-key arguing has stopped, but if I see any more drama about fair use getting turned into trauma, I'm going to hand out warning points, and I DON'T want to do that over a misunderstanding of fair use. As an amateur photographer, I am fairly well aware of fair use. I learned the hard way when I was younger. I got into more than one heated argument over the use of my work, after I submitted it to various publishers, but I learned my lessons. I've also had a story that I wrote stolen and re-published multiple times. So, I do know what it feels like. Now, as I said before, learn the rules of fair use, learn at least some of what copyright really is, and please, for heaven's sake, before anyone starts to get upset by the usage of art work, run it by other people who are neutral and who may just give you a fair response to any question that you may have, to the best of their ability. And no, I don't want to be inundated with this, I just want the bickering and drama over something that is so clear-cut under the applicable laws and conventions, to stop. I don't want nice people to get into trouble. This is what bothers me the most. Not everyone is going to get along with everyone else. That is part of life. But I don't want it to get out of hand. Got it? Get it? Good.
