Still, we're kind of in the middle of a thing here. That thing is being horribly mauled by some bear monster, but it is still a thing we are doing.

 

Can you type this on the actual post instead of here?

The bear dashes into the trees and tears at the tree with Niryes on it, trying to land a claw on him.
Attack Roll: 5 + 5 = 10

Niryes is fast enough to avoid the claw swipes.

Erevan's turn.

 

He stays hidden for now.

 

Luneth shoots her bow at the bear, loosing two arrows.
Attack Roll 1: Natural 20.
Attack Roll 2: Another Natural 20. I'm not making this up.

Damage Roll 1: 5 + 6 + 2 = 13 piercing damage.
Damage Roll 2: 3 + 2 + 2 = 7 piercing damage.

One arrow hits the Arzuros in the back of the head. The other hits it in the butt.

Thanks for telling us what it is, although I doubt it has a stat block so I won’t bother looking it up.

 

The name's been on the battle map since it came into view. Also, I do have a stat block, but I'm not telling where it is.

What's an azuros? Is it anything special?

Well. Time for a cool attack.
I jump out of the tree, my rapier drawn, hoping to drive it into the beast's back.

Attack roll: 16+3 = 19
Damage roll: 6 + 2 = 8
Athletics to get there: 16-2 = 15

I needed so many good dice rolls to pull that off. I'll never doubt the mercy of the random number god again.

 

You plant your blade in the fur of its back, stabbing in deeply, and also manage to grab onto one of its spines. The beast roars in pain.
Also, that was cool enough that you earn 1d4 of Inspiration.

I don't think I really need any modifiers on this

 

The bear rolled a 12. You'd need at least a +11 modifier to succeed with that, and I seriously doubt you could get that much without more preparation.

Anyway, it rears up suddenly. Niryes loses his grip on the spike, and although he's still holding onto his sword (because critical failures suck), he gets flung back away from the beast. If nothing else, at least you wasted its turn.
