Lycan: "Before you go down to scout ahead, you may as well have this to make your return more likely."

He'll then walk over to Elzen while he ties the rope, slaps his hand on his shoulder, and give him the effects of the trickster's blessing.

Lycan: "You have been blessed. Now try not to die to... whatever is down there."

 

Elzen: "Thanks, I shall try my best to come out alive.", grabs some of the light pebbles Erevan has assumably been making (or else what is our light source?) and climbs down the rope cautiously.

You crawl down the shaft into a dark cave. At the bottom, you hear the squeaking of bats, in a fifteen-foot-wide tunnel that goes onwards horizontally and slowly curves.
