While Knaal is walking along, suddenly, a loud roar comes from nearby. The creature in the cave's eyes snap open, but Knaal runs out before it can get to its feet. Footsteps are pounding from there.

The cat-thing seems to move supernaturally fast from side to side, and looks like there's a second, identical one standing in the same spot, but a different pose. The two are both somewhat transparent, and intersect in areas.

It hisses and roars at the party.

Actually, it was a conveniently placed giant monster roaring.

Niryes is so busy swearing at Knaal that he completely misses the fact that combat has started. When he finally does, he sort of slumps around, clumsily drawing his rapier before pointing it at the enemy. (Niryes: "I... think? That's the enemy?")
Might be a bit before he actually attacks, though. If the idiot does at all. Which he probably will. Despite the whole "1 HP" thing. Because screw it, spinning attack at the first one that moves.
