I think so. It's the rope from the explorers pack.

 

The rope goes down the pit, with a bit of length at the end. The pit seems to be about 20 feet deep.

 

Is it dark down there?

 

It's dark, but with enough sunlight coming down to illuminate some early areas of the pit.

The rock is slightly slippery, and you're not incredibly experienced with this technique. Make an Athletics check.
