    Read Tantibus' original post. You MUST travel using the Elytra, because stepping on the floor deals massive amounts of poison damage.

    How exactly do we use the elytra if the floor is poisonous. How would we get in the air?

    No, but it's one of the dangers of Corkus. The place is gorgeous, but the ground is poisonous. (Hey. That rhymes!!) Without the Elytra, players can't get anywhere, because, if you die, you respawn in the air, right above the empty town square. (Oooh, that rhymes, too!!) Remember, Corkus is coming to a WynnCraft near you!
