You know this whole mindset can be avoided if you don't compare yourself to other people.

 

Unfortunately, that's a part of human nature.

 

Fortunately human nature is a subject to your own consciousness. They are psychological responses as a result of beliefs and conditioning formed early in our lives. They can all can be eliminated should the relevant beliefs and conditioning be eliminated.

 

It looks like I miswrote my original comment; I should have added society's current impact on human nature.

In my opinion, human nature can certainly be eliminated to an extent. But in order to do so one would require a utopia, or "nowhere." Even the slightest mishap, inequality, or emotion can dramatically alter the consciousness of someone at an early age. As of 2017, I don't see a brave new world happening anytime soon.

 

Short question:What's the difference between grinding a boss and his minions or grinding at ToA? If you're strong enough to stay there ans kill everything.. Hey, why not? ToA floors aren't meant to grind there, either. Don't really understand what the problem is here...

Please make me understand this.
You can't kill mobs while being on a horse. If so, you could do that everywhere, not only there. Afk grinding sucks and everyone should be punished for that. But if I, for example, would go there and run around killing mobs, hoping for some items to drop, that's totally fine, right? I'm just confused by the fact everyone here says he's afk grinding, riding a horse to negate the knockback of those mobs. But how does he gain any items when he doesn't kill anything...?

 

Just to be clear, I don't think that's how you guys wanted things to turn out. I'm not one of those conspirators who think everything is a set up
once things go wrong. It's pretty clear you are trying hard to improve the game. I have seen your work and was always a fan of your effort.
How many builders are there? I don't need the exact number, but I'm pretty sure there is a fairy amount. So, why are there only 2 people
that make and balance items? As a former beta tester for an mmo, I'll tell you right now it's impossible for a few people to completely
balance items. I never expected of you to make things perfect. You are just a human.

To be even more clear, I'm not gonna start crapping on the game now. If I have been honest for so long, I may as well continue with it. That's how I was brought up, to value decency above benefit.

Furthermore, I'm gonna ask you why don't you have people that test builds for you? Community is eager to help, why isn't there a team that
would give you a feedback before changes/updates go live? If there isn't such a thing, why can't you form it? Or, why don't you form it.

I'm an engineer. Comparing is almost everything to us. Whether you like it or not, whether you agree with it or no, is irrelevant to me.

 

You can't seperate your career from recreation, that's nobody's limitation but your own.

Human nature will always exist. That is what makes us human. A human with no human nature is nothing but an empty shell, driven by the cause and effect of the world around them.

The problem is that people take their nature as absolute drive behind their psyche. Human nature is NOT absolute. It can CHANGE. Just because society brought you up to be subject to envy doesn't mean you have to let that define a part of your human nature that leads to be a drive. So what if your human nature tells you to be envious? If you don't like feeling envious then just DON'T feel envious. It's as simple as that. Appreciate the good things that happen to other people. Know that human nature is just a guideline.

The initial problem was that the poster was confused at a person AFK grinding in a boss room. The rest of the thread is a discussion regarding it.

This may be a little bit off topic, but I'm just curious. You're always looking for a way to make to game interesting and challenging, so I'm wondering can you or are you guys looking at making combat more timing based? If you ever played games like Hollow Knight b4, you know what I mean. I know this is mine craft you have to work with, but I was wondering if it was possible or not. That way instead of just constantly struggling to adjust damage or defense values, you can make it so that players have to pay attention and watch their enemies moves, thereby making it more engaging.

 

That's incredibly hard to do with the current system, but mabye after the refactor

Why tell them to stop? It's very annoying and really cheating the game but it's not under the rules unless you would count it glitch abuse.

 

So you did read my discord about people afk farming there? why didn't you respond?

As for this, please stop. I can't completely tell if you are or are not blaming yourself for the issues at hand, however yet again please stop.
Something to note is we are all human, and we tend to fuck up, if you make a mistake balancing an item or patching afk farming, if you fuck up, you can fix it.
Also, other peoples choices to break the game like dumb asses has nothing to do with any failure you may have inflicted.
Again I can not tell if you are blaming yourself or not, its kinda unclear, however, again you shouldn't be, I personally would just try my hardest to fix the mistakes i may or may not have made in the past.

No one will say it on a forum which is moderated by the same devs as the server (as they might be banned) and the mods wont tell you how in case after a change the glitch works again or you work out a different way to glitch it using the same method.
