Add character names

I think you should be able to name your different characters and the name of the character you are playing as will hover over your head. It's a pretty simple idea but it has never been added.

I would love "Blue" to display above my head but perhaps there's a reason this feature doesn't already exist?

Sam is right, Champions can nickname each of their classes which displays in italics in chat.

On another note...
Wouldn't it be cool if you could retain your, for example, [CHAMPION] tag in chat but change it to VIP/VIP+/HERO colour? I would love to be a purple Champion. This would apply to any player's rank + underlying ranks.

 

I think that this could be a really cool idea, I think a way to separate it from the Champion rank perk is that it could display above the head of the player. All in all though it is just essentially reworking the champion naming system.

 

Probably because impersonation would be easier. If you nicknamed yourself "Salted" and had a Salted skin, there would be a few people who fall for it
