Buying from other players is almost always cheaper than breeding.

I suggest learning a bit about this topic

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mudflation#Static_money_sinks
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_sink

Horse breeding, from an ingame economic perspective, is a gold/money sink. Many games with an inflated currency in the economy typically introduce gambling mechanics for players to test their luck to obtain a powerful, cosmetic, or even just novelty items that cant be obtain elsewhere, in hope that players will sink their money and resources to obtain it. Those that are lucky will get the item/s below the average value put into the gamble compare to everyone else, those that are unlucky will spend more resources/money than the average cost before they get them... or just lose all their money. Horse breeding therefore is a gambling mechanic put in place to sink the overall emeralds in the ingame economy. Those with the most amount of emeralds to waste to try their luck are the ones that typically can recover from a failed gamble. With that being said, if you are a newer player, it's typically much more economical to buy a chestnut and upgrade it from 1/30 to 1/35 at the Corrupted Decrepit Sewers dungeon merchant. instead of spending all your emeralds buying a white horse, or gamble and potentially lose it all with nothing to show for it.

Depends. I got 2 chestnuts from 1/2 stack of LE. But you also can just end up with a black horse.

Hey y'all if you found a Chestnut on the market under 16le buy it, otherwise only breed them. And never breed a white, they take 118le to breed

Can’t wait for white horses to get an upgrade via a dungeon so that they can reach level 45, only to then be usurped by an even less obtainable level 50 horse breed.

Edit: honestly if the developers want a way to deflate the economy, add another tier or two of horses with the same breeding success rates.

That would be crazy fast, the horse tier speeds are exponential. A 40/40 is more than twice as fast as a 20/20

If you got 2 chestnuts from 32 le, thats 1 per 16le, which is the average cost of getting a horse from breeding aswell as the avg cost for a 1/30 chestnut on the market, so you werent that lucky.
