I'm assuming this is just something exclusive to Dungeons in Wynncraft, and I know that parkour sections are intended for some varying challenge and fun, and I can understand that and I personally enjoy parkour sections.

However, they're not so easy for my best friend who's disabled. We live many states away from each other and they came to me with WynnCraft and I was really ecstatic at being able to share this with them.

Though things got challenging once me and my best friend entered the Decrepit Sewers and encountered the parkour sections. My best friend doesn't have skills or mobility to really get past those parts and it honestly was really damaging to my friends mental health as they felt ashamed and embarrassed trying to do it.

In the decrepit sewers, in one of the parkour sections, you actually couldn't leave the area (we weren't aware of the /kill function) and there wasn't any mobs for my best friend to get killed by, because they tried to find them to escape, they even considered just making a new character once after the hour mark, it ended up taking 3 hours until we managed to overcome it.

My best friend decided to stop playing for a few days because they felt really ashamed that it was so difficult for them when it's easier for most others. And now my best friend is fairly anxious about most exploration in wynncraft after that experience.

I don't think this is an experience someone playing WynnCraft should ever have, it's a very fun, simple and enjoyable game, and should be accessible for as many individuals as possible.

I want to share as much of WynnCraft with my best friend as possible, and the thought that they have to miss out on exploring some dungeons and areas because there's parkour areas isn't really cool. Regardless, a sign that's perhaps a little nearby the parkour section that asks the player if they would like to skip the parkour section (don't ask if it's too challenging, players shouldn't feel bad and incapable if it's something they can't do). Then the player right-clicks it once, and a chat message displays asking if they want to proceed with the skip and to right-click again to confirm. And then the player is transported to the end of that specific parkour section if they confirm.
This also helps make it so players don't accidentally get transported unintentionally if they right-click the sign by accident (say perhaps casting a spell or something. I for one, have a twitchy right-click finger, so it's always possible for me XD)

I feel you. Back in 2013 I quit wynn for a year because I was new to MC and didn't know about /kill. Basically, I was playing mage, and got stuck in a roof.

Certain people have asked for this, and we try to not make our parkour sections punishing as a result. In fact, one of our QA testers, @Moe_Ronickah , abhors parkour. He's had trouble getting past them, but that's more due to his age and self-admitted vertigo and reaction times; a fear rather than something more traditionally thought of as a disability, and he has been able to get through them all. Parkour sections are very common, so while I'm not against your suggestion necessarily, it must be admitted that people would just skip the parkour because it'd be easier and quicker, so there would probably have to be some other method of introducing challenge; a split path-type challenge instead of an instant skip, or at least some form of penalty for doing so.

Maybe if you fail it like 5-6 times it will ask you if you want to go to a checkpoint, or skip it.

I can see why you want for this to be implemented, only problem is that parkour is a pretty big section in a lot of dungeons and not everyone does dungeons just for fun, but for the rewards and xp. If anyone can skip the whole parkour section, they can do dungeons much faster then and it wouldnt really be fair/balanced
The only way to get around this I suppose would be if u got a special rank or smth but im not sure if you even allowed to do that, and even if you could, there would definitely be people who would try to abuse it and skip the parkour parts

That would just give the same result as instantly skipping the parkour course as I can just fall 5-6 times and immediately end the parkour section. I think what Selvut meant is that there should be a penalty for skipping the parkour section, whether that be soul points/ emeralds/ or a debuff.

I'm actually really for the split-path idea he mentioned, since that can introduce more interesting content to a dungeon and it would prove not only beneficial for people that are not able to do parkour but also addsome spice to the dungeons for slightly more veteran players ^-^

I think a better option would be after a certain amount of time rather than times youve failed, then itll ask if you want to skip. That way, people wont necessarily be able to abuse it cuz they wont get any speed advantage but if they really cant get past then you could just skip ::

I am one of those people who just get upset and embarrassed after failing parkour that others may find rather easy. Like I'm just so terrible and most of Wynn's parkour comes out to be very hard for me too. It can be really stressful at times to. This is a big reason why I don't do dungeons. Sometimes I won't even complete a quest if it involes parkour.

I like this. You could have 2 paths for parkour: one short, but more difficult path, and a longer but easier path. Or have 2 equally long paths, but if you take the easier path, for instance, the hunt section after that would be longer/more difficult.

I mean yea that works, but if you have a sucky PC like I used to (hue I get 1600fps now.. smh) You couldn't do the Aldorei beacon parkour. So yes an alternate route would be good, but would mean loads of work. You'd need the built team to build the room for it, devs to program cmd blocks for the objective, and a crapton of other stuff to be made.

I think instead of instant finishing then how about built in check marks. So if I pass point A then fail then it will send me back to point A instead of the beginning. This removes frustration for everyone.

Given that the OP doesn't seem to be very far into the game, here are a couple of things to be aware of:
-Parkour plays a role in later quests, sometimes requiring long sections of it to move on (like the bit near the end of a Thousand Metres Under). Though this tends to be easier than dungeon parkour, it could still be a barrier to your friend (the Decrepit Sewers parkour is lower-level and therefore less of a challenge). There are also Underworld Crypt and Sand-Swept Tomb, two fairly early dungeons that have no parkour.

-At level 11, all classes except Assassin receive a movement spell that can be used to effectively skip parkour sections. Mage's teleport is especially useful - once you know how it works, it's very easy to aim at specific spots. I'd recommend that somebody who finds parkour difficult play as a Mage and avoid Assassin. If need be, I suggest that your friend start a new class (shouldn't take long to get back to level 9) as a mage and avoid parkour until teleport is unlocked.

If this were implemented, there would need to be a way to stop people from skipping them just because they can't be bothered, and a way to do it without breaking the immersion (it makes very little sense to have the player conveniently teleport past an obstacle that was giving them trouble). The CT put careful thought and effort into parkour sections and they play an important role in the pacing of dungeons and quests.

I think, despite the difficulties stated above, that having the split paths would be the best option, were this added. Maybe have a battle/puzzle area as an alternative took parkour, or... idk actually.

I guess if my friend had to fight some monsters, that wouldn't be so bad. But I would never want to seem them penalized for something they have extreme difficulty doing.
    ________________________________
Yeah, that'd take a lot of time for those changes to be implemented if they choose to go down that route. Though it could be worth it so players don't feel like they are missing content or missing a part of the dungeon crawling experience others get to have when in reality, it's just another route. Anyone can choose to go down it and that's good, it's empowering.

    Hey!
First of all and before I forget, your thread is really popular (from what I can see from likes) and you should probably add a poll
    most likely saying :
    Yes
    Yes but (what to change)
    No (Why)

I'd be in the category "Yes but"
Because while I understand why this would be a thing, people would obviously abuse it

Some stuff have already been suggested above such as

Wich i'm definitevely not agaisn't but imo isn't the best thing because it may cause some problems with the current builds (like idk how it would fit in a dungeon, even though it might, you prob know more than me xD)

Or this suggestion wich I really like!

However if these cannot be a thing (wich i'd definitevely ask : why?) I think there should be something like a button that does nothing if you haven't contacted staff team before to explain that you are disabled or some kind of thing that doesn't allow you to play the game correctly but if you did and it was confirmed it tp's you at the end of the parkour...? could that be a thing? tell me

But yea, currently, and it'll be even more at higher levels, it might be hard for you and your friends to do every dungeons/everything in the map, but still, I think you can enjoy your time through wynncraft, and if you've discovered the /kill command, now you can get out of anything, even though it can be frustrating that after doing all that work you are not getting rewarded :/

If nothing ends up being done, you should probably ask the community to tell you every quest and dungeon in wich there is some kind of hard parkour (and by that I mean not just run like in csst) this way you can avoid it and still enjoy the game ;)

My best friend choose assassin cause they love sneaky characters XD of course it's the one without movement options.

I don't personally like the idea of someone having to contact mods to tell them that they're disabled, that sounds pretty demeaning. There has to be a better and more inclusive solution to this problem

    @Selvut283 , you rang?

Hey, @Futome . Man, do I ever appreciate your comments. Wynncraft has always been an inclusive community, and this is one thing where I have a bone to pick with the CT. They know it. It's not a secret: I hate parkour. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it! As Selvut said, I have vertigo, and I hate the thought and the visual image of falling into an abyss or onto a solid surface. It makes me cringe and hesitate. I am the oldest person on Wynncraft, by far. My reaction times are very slow by comparison to the average Wynn player, and probably on a par with your friends'.

Your comments are just about identical to what I've said for a long, long time. Some of the parkours are terribly hard to do. If you aren't fully abled. As some of the other commenters have said, mage is most likely the easiest class for dealing with parkour, because of its ability to move in a straight line, without needing a lot of vertical clearance. Even then, some of the parkours are just too hard to do, and I've skipped some, for months, then gone back to try to complete them. Some things that your friend needs to look out for: any armor, weapons, or accessories that have negative agility or negative walk speed. I tried for weeks to get a warrior across what looked to be a simple jump. It was, when I took off the armor that I was wearing. There's also a parkour that has a vine attached to a leaf block. Until a moderator, who has retired, made a video of him doing that parkour, I had no idea that the vine was even there; I actually could not see it on the leaf block because of visual color deficit (partial color blindness). Where does that leave us?

Well, one of our composers, @XavierEXE , got permission to work on a parkour in a fairly large and tall space, for the previous update. He made three parkours in that space; short and very tough, long and fairly easy, and an intermediate parkour. There was/is NO way that I can do the tough parkour - I just don't have the reflexes for it. I can do the intermediate one, but I fail in it, several times. Guess what? It has multiple failsafe regions, where, if you fail, you start over at that region, and not from the very beginning of the parkour. The longer, easier, parkour? It was made based upon whether or not I could make the jumps. It's a challenge, but, bless that guy, it's fun!

So, yes, it IS possible to make multiple parkours for quests and dungeons, but I have no idea if or when the work on that would be started. And it IS possible to set failsafe points on parkours, but, again, I don't know if that will continue to be implemented. I wish it would be, because, from what I know, it's not that hard nor that time consuming. For one dungeon or quest, at a time.

And I've talked about the idea of making different parkours with different difficulties and different rewards, with someone outside of Wynncraft. Now that I'm involved with QA, I know that it can be done. The question though, is the priority of making all of these changes to all of the parkours in the quests and in the dungeons. That, I don't know. However, I can assure you that I will be bringing this up with the CT in the very near future.

And in the mean time? Skip the dungeons. Just skip them, and don't worry about it. There are some dungeons that I've done once. Once. After several weeks of trying, on and off. Because I'm old and stubborn. Was I frustrated? Yes. Enough to curse and walk away from my pc. Many, many, times. And, I was doing them alone. Not when I had a friend with me that I felt that I was letting down. Don't put your friend through that. It's not fair, and it's not worth it.

Any quest that has a parkour that your friend cannot do without a lot of undo frustration, just exit the quest. The only class that I have been able to eventually complete every parkour on (and the Aldorei parkour can be by-passed as a mage, with a lot of careful work) is my mage. My assassin? Nope. My archer? Not yet. My warrior? That slug is too slow to even shuffle his feet, if I leave my best armor on. So, not yet, either. While the dungeons tell a lot of the story, they don't tell everything. Every quest tells a story, but not every quest is needed in order to understand the story of Wynn as it plays out.

So, there's the long and short of it. Some of the parkours are extremely tough unless you are fully abled. I'm not. I got through those with a mage, with a lot of work, with a lot of frustration, but without anyone with me. I didn't want to hold anyone up, nor let anyone down. If you want to help your friend, and it seems like you really do, take some advice. Have him or her play as a mage, and avoid the tougher parts. For now.

[geez, I did it again. One comment turned into a thesis. OK, at random, I'm blaming @TheMemeTimes for this one.]

I actually never knew about the armor thing, that sounds a little too important to not be easily readable and identifiable to the player.

Also regarding the vine thing, my best friend actually has some problems with this sort of thing, like once I climbed out of a lake on a ladder, but the ladder was attached to wood blocks (just outside where you pick up the quest for "The Relic Shrines") and my best friend couldn't tell how I was getting up out of the water until I specified that there was a ladder there, they went all the way around because they couldn't see it.

I honestly don't want to ask or let a shortcoming rob my best friend of their immersion and joy. They really enjoy playing assassin/thief characters, I personally do not. I wouldn't want to have to ask my friend to switch off something they're enjoying to something they don't enjoy. The same reason why I wouldn't want to stop playing warrior and playing mage instead. I find mages boring typically, I like to get right into the heat of the action. So if I had to do that, it'd really dampen my experience and enjoyment. So would switching off thief for my friend.

If someone can't enjoy the entire game completely through at their chosen class, that sounds like a pretty big problem.
