In that case, I'll try something different.

I leap onto the side of the ship, hanging on with one arm and balancing on the hull with one leg. I then spend two ki points to use Water Whip.

A deep blue tendril extends from my hand into the water, moving around and reaching for the globster. It must make a Dexterity saving throw.

The whip barely latches on to the globster, shaking and throwing it up into the air. With a thunderous crash, the globster falls back into the water on its back. I'm spending one extra ki point on Water Whip for additional damage.
Damage: 4 + 2 + 6 = 12 bludgeoning damage.

Roll 1: 2+5=7
Roll 2: 14+5=19
Dmg: 2+6+6=14 Bludgeoning.

You could have said that a *tiny* bit earlier

 

I'm not done with my turn. May I at least take the Dodge action, if you won't let me attack?

I'm not quite sure why I didn't. I think I was looking for confirmation on how effective the water whip was. Anyway, do I have advantage?
