World A Way To Add More Lore Into The Game. (+34 Supporters)

This is an overall simple suggestion. I think it's a little ridiculous, especially for those who do not use the forums, look on the website to find some pieces of the official lore, like " Wynn Tales: The Legend of Bob." This can also be a way to add a lot more lore into the game without cramming it all into quests or items. It could also be an opportunity to hide more easter eggs.

To add this in, there will be multiple book "mobs" That are passive, have 1 HP, and are immobile. Hitting it will drop a written book titled the book name, and the 'chapter' of the lore, in case some stories are too long to fit in a single book. These books will be hidden across the map from city libraries, to some well-hidden easter egg locations.

After you obtain the item the book drops, it will be an 'Unread Book', with the category color as its color of the name. These will be in your inventory and will be untradeable. Once you right click it, a message will pop up, that reads: You have opened this book for the first time. You can access its contents in the compass menu. The Unread Book will then disappear from your inventory.
To access your book collection, there will be a new icon above the skill point modification, with a book and quill, that is titled: Book Collection.
After clicking the Book Collection, there will be 4 separate books, each of them representing a different category. Each of these categories will hold the individual books that fall into their respective category.
To access a book you want to read, click on the book, and that book will fall into an empty inventory slot so you can read it. You can only have 1 of each respective book in your inventory at a time, and when you drop them, the item will vanish, though you can still access it in the menu.


There will be multiple categories of books, them being:

Informational: Books under this category will include secondary source information on certain mobs, NPCs, or locations in the game.

Historic: Books under this category cover the lore about major events in the game that happened in the past.

Myth: Books under this category will cover the lore about made-up stories that did not take place in the events of wynncraft, instead they will be like folktales or short bedtime stories in the context of the game.

Diary/Accounts: Books under this category will include primary sources of knowledge of a certain NPC's personal experiences, such as diary entries, and autobiographies.

If this were added into the game, it would give the non-forum users an opportunity to check out the lore previously exclusive to the forums, and there would be so much more lore. making the game feel much more alive.

Constructive criticism is appreciated!

Changes:
1. Added categories of books.
2. Added a system that would save inventory space, and prevent duping.

 

"Wynn Tales" sounds weird since Bob was REAL

 

I wasn't the one who made the title, Grian made it. Back when it was here before the great forum wipe of 9/7, that's what it was named.

 

"Wynn History" would be better.

 

Added categories of books to help players distinguish them better.

Sounds like a great idea! Maybe this would finally give a purpose to all those caves around the province that don't do anything right now.
Although, where would you store the pages and how would they work?
