You mean water right? And really any build can work with mage. Theres a lightning only mythic wand if one has questions about the viability of dex. Strength? Meteor scales with it. Agility? Look at crystal pure and phoenix wing. Defense? You have a heal spell. Intelligence? Mage is all about the spells. Spell damage? Knock em dead. Melee? If you lower your spell damage, who cares? All mage spells do more than just damage. (Heal, teleport/blind, meteor burning, freezing) mixed? Why not hit them as meteor falls to seal their fate? Multielement? Look at the cascade wand.

Mage is the best, not because of healing (though it is nice) but because of its one class fit all nature :P

Edit: spell left click isnt affected by attack speed. Attack speed, however, does make spells stronger. Typically, air thunder and somtimes water are the fastest hitting

Honestly beginners shouldn't worry about skill points. Your skills start actually affecting things once you're around Lv 40-50. Until then don't allot them at all until you obtain armor with requirements. The general strategy for casual players should just be put points only if you really need to wear an item and aim to be able to equip certain items. Then once you're upper leveled (around 70-80) feel free to buy a reset scroll and reallot points to start leaning towards a build. Once you're lv 90+ reset skills again if needed to strictly follow the desired build. 2 LE really isn't much considering how much LE you get from quests along the way.
