I have recently thought of a method of knowing what an unidentified mythic is without abusing a mod or a glitch. This method is really simple, but no glitches or mods are used. Sadly, it only works with items such as wands or items that stack.

In this thread by @Salkasm , he gives formulas to identify what mythic is what using math. One of the interesting things about his thread is the table seen here:

As you can see, every mythic with the exception of (Fatal, Warp), (Inferno, Nirvana), (Grimtrap, Cataclysm, Wethered), and (Grandmother, Ignis) can be singled out for now with his method. The only problem is, we cannot figure out what mythic is what using the ID Cost mythic. But that doesn't stop us, as sellers of mythics, from determining what that item is.

This mythic is really simple and isn't hard. No glitches or mods used, however it could be costly... you will understand why.

This method exploits one simple fact: Different Unidentified Mythics, while of the same item set, DO NOT STACK.

I call it... the process of elimination.

What you need for this method:
    1. Notes or your memory (If you get lost along the way, you have to restart.)
    2. An unidentified mythic wand (such as Fatal (we do not know this yet))
    3. Another unidentified mythic wand (such as Warp (we do not know this yet))

You are done. Those mythics can only be used as reference.

Now, you must obtain another mythic that meets the ID requirement (or rather, the same lore at this point) and attempt to stack them together. (The bank could be helpful with this.) If they stack, it means they are the same Mythic.

Let's say you have a Fatal (Unided) and a Warp (Unided). Since those are the only two wands in the group, getting another unided mythic can be used to confirm which one you have. Just identify the one of the items pile that has 2 items in it. Since you now know that the item you identified is now, let's say a Warp, the other pile could only be a Fatal. You would have to keep good notes in order to not be confused.

I have to say that this method, as it is now, can really only be helpful to the sellers... buyers could do this method... but they would either have to use this method themselves or find some other method. It's too bad that this method requires a lot of time and money to even do. Perhaps some friends can let you mythic in order to help with this.

This method isn't restricted to Mythics. It can be used for any tier. Sadly, as for mythics, only works for wands.

Banning the outright sale of unidentified is a dumb suggestion anyway.

I will fix up this thread, but later.

Ah yes, I did this with Knucklebones and Pandemonium (both Legendary and level 100) in my shop. Works like a charm :)

Blame @Salkasm for that, and also Salted for giving it an air spear texture.

Could someone test for me if you can stack items, such as two unidentified spears, if they are equipped with a weapon skin?

Edit: Weapon skins do not work directly on unidentified weapons. Rip.

So, in order to figure out whether is it a warp or a fatal, you should own both unIDed warp and fatal in the process.

Do you see the flaw in this idea? How many people can actually own unIDed warp and fatal?

Also, if anyone actually gets a warp, and they glitch to see the name, do you seriously think they would leave it unIDed and sell it unIDed?

Or do you propose that I get my own unIDed warp and fatal in order to figure which item unIDed mythic is? unIDed fatal by buying, and unIDed warp by finding it, cause let's be honest, no one would leave unIDed warp.

Do you see how costly and nearly impossible your idea is due to requirements? I can't just go out and find a warp and it's extremely costly.

The issue isn't about sellers not knowing what item is. The issue is sellers knowing EXACTLY what the item is, selling it at inflated prices, and buyer buying it thinking it's a gamble, while it's a scam. Your idea doesn't fix the issue, as in the process you are required to own different unIDed gear in the 1st place. That, for the vast majority of the people, me included, is impossible. You are also assuming that whoever got a mythic, left it unIDed and now wants to buy the exact same mythic, for whatever reason.

EDIT: I'm talking about buyers, not sellers. It's the buyers that are the subject of this debate, as it's them getting screwed in the process.

    EDIT 2:
"I blindly forgot that items except for wands and accessories cannot stack since I believe they are considered vanilla items while unidentified. I'll think of something"

Yeah...so basically, the idea is a no-no. Sorry.

It may, just may, in some ridiculous way work for wands, but anything else is a big no.

Like I said, there is NO need to sell unIDed mythics. ID them and sell them fairly. You are just making things way more complicated then they need to be.

You seem to be ignoring that this only works with wands. All other items used as the unidentified texture are unstackable. Daggers are shears, spears are iron shovels and bows are, well bows. These cannot stack even if they are the exact same item. Only wands (sticks) can. Only one pair of mythic wands have the same level. So you have devised a very expensive way to tell the difference between Fatal and Warp, that doesn't work for anything else and requires you keep them behind unidentified.... and either way, you'd ID it, it's not expensive and you can always sell mythics. This is genius, but useless.

Read the first sentence in the OP.

    I know.

Still better than a "Ban all unIDed mythic sales blah blah blah"

Yeah, no. The fact is it won't even work for anything else other than wands.

Your idea is executable in 0.1% of the possible situations. 99.9% still remains the problem. Hardly a solution in any case.
