Guide A Comprehensive Guide to Professions (v1.7.2)

Added (almost) comprehensive list of ingredients that can be grinded/bought/totemed/no totems/whatever.

 

Added descriptions of bombs and their mechanics, sections for Gathering XP/Speed Gear, and started working on Efficient Crafting section. Also cleaned up some sections.

Also, maybe I should try contributing to the wiki in the professions section by using this guide as a template?

Gonna bump before this gets locked; will work on it in the next few weeks.

 

Fixed a little bit of outdated information, slowly added GXP gear, and added approximate formulas for calculating XP.

 

Not sure if this is known but I'm just going to put this out there since I couldn't find any data about this anywhere else.
At the ultimate discovery of Lake Gylia, there are 4 pools of water where lots of little swimmers (a passive mob) spawn in a relatively small space.
They almost always drop Fish Scales (0* lvl 75 armouring ingredient) and often drops Soggy Stone too (0* lvl 76 Weaponsmithing & Woodworking ingredient).

(Even wynndata does not list the fact that little swimmers drop these items)

 

Noted. I need to overhaul places to grind ingredients but that will take a long time.

Totally did not forget to update this, in the process of updating everything up to 1.20 and then adding more stuff.

 

I can safely say I have updated this thread to encompass pretty much everything about professions regarding its mechanics. This is now no longer WIP and will be updated from time to time. Took over a year hahahahahahahahaha......................

 

Extremely pog- do you want to include the crafted weapon damage interaction with powders thing in here (From ferricles, it's on wynnbuilder/wynnfo I think)

 

God dammit now I have to write more... sure.

Added how ingredient effectiveness modifier works as well as how item effectiveness causes IDs to round down.

 

I don't fully understand how the xp decay works. When you say up to 65%, does it mean of your entire level?

Does this mean that's it is best to raise all professions at an equal rate? I was going to just get fishing and mining along with jeweling up to ~100, and lvl the rest later. Is that a good plan?

 

It means the amount of xp you get per node/craft is less than usual. At lv 132 gatherings, you only get about 1k xp per node (base) when gathering Dernic, whereas the usual amount is around 2.2k at lv 110-119.

Due to the addition of GXP gear, honestly not sure if you end up still having excess materials or not, but the most efficient way is to level up everything together, assuming you have the bank space to do so. Of course, not everyone has enough bank space, so it’s fine to do one at a time, though if you want to level up other craftings, you have to regather lower level materials again.
